Hi Socal,
I've tested the sound text files : no changes. Some sounds are always missing in game (end turn, end game, click on city, ...).
I've already tested the sound files : ditto.
Not really a problem because these sounds are not essentials to play the mod.![]()
In fact, it's very strange...![]()
For memory, I play en english version of the game.

none of the things above working.
all vanilla sound files still in place.
i repeat:
textfiles placed in main directory
sounds in pder/sound deleted
started game
started new campaign-> no files generated
anything wrong?
the only wrong thing i could imagine is that im using vista. always big mistake![]()
This whoulda been a whole lot easier is We all had Mac's.
Vista is the son o da Devil >![]()
okkkkkk, this time, there were soundfiles created in the pder/sound dir by using the textfiles (7,18kb) but theres still no sound.:hmmm:
seems as theres no sound wether soundfiles are there or not.
very odd. ill upload my pder system log. perhaps there are hints.

I have no sound except on movies. Havent tried battles yet though. Its just that the lack of sound is making me sleepy.. For some reason i cant download your sound fixes, FDM keeps stopping the download as i start it. And btw, i keep getting these "file" formats that i dont know how to open? Wth is wrong? This vista is making me nuts....
Same problem, i dont have sound except in movies, like assasin and Crusade movies.. really a shame becouse its a very nice mood! (PLaying Genova =) ) But i have vista, tried both of the sound bug fixes still no sound!!!??
Hmm...I would search that bug reports thread there were a few people who had sound problems using Vista. I think it was related to whether you were signed on as an admin and whether you clicked the "Show Compability Files" button on the menu bar of the window.
Don't know why the download is timing out or being killed. Must be a Vista security setting.
Just letting you know, the mod worked, however, I only have some sounds. The troops make noise when I click on them, the music plays, but the normal sounds one hears such as clicking on the city, clicking to start and quit, they are missing. On the other hand, as someone else pointed out those aren't essential, it is just nice to have affirmation that you clicked and something happened. It makes one feel better. I don't know about the battles yet because I have only played Georgia and I haven't had an army strong enough to challenge anyone yet.
Deus posuit, id decuit, ergo fecit.
I thought I would add, this is a great mod. I also played 0.4, and I appreciate the ability to recruit regular troops in cities. It makes it more realistic as the distinction in vanilla is fictitious except possibly in the middle east. I just thought I would add, is there a way to change the unit cards for buildings? Particularly for Churches, so that Eastern Christians might have Churches which actually appear like Orthodox Churches, or make the Gothic Churches look a lot better, or to make Spanish Churches look like the Romanesque style and not like the Florentine style which all Mediterranean factions have? That was just a thought. Thank you for your hard work.

Possible solution #1 worked for me. Might want to remind players that once unzipped, you will have to copy and paste. Game on!
Sound fixed here with solution one. But id make sure people know to select the files to extract and not just the folder as thats what i did. once copied and pasted the files from solution 1 sorted my game.
Thanks![]()
I am using vista and I have the same sound issues. I did everything from coping over the sound files from vanilla, to the first problem fix and the second and over and again and agian. It did not work every time I did it.
Any additional help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
