    Default Crusade Campaign

    Hello.

I recently bought Kingdoms, after being a long time Total War fan. So far, I'm quite impressed with the content in an expansion pack. However, I'm finding it hard to get into it, so to speak. The Crusades campaign is most appealing to me, and I'd like to play as Jerusalum or Antioch, but it seems difficult. I like to play on VH/VH, because I don't think that a lower difficulty would be a decent challenge.

Basically, I'm asking for hints and tips on how to get started on this campaign. Cheers.

With Antioch, first I build up a strong economy and at the time of the mongolian attack I should have 15000/turn. Then I rush down the Turks and open a new front at Alexandria. Works for me! I just love the Principality of Antioch - best looking units!

With J-Rule I try to stay back for a while, because Egypt starts with 2 full pack armies near J-Rule and then I counter attack. I have nerver built up a strong economy with J. I guess it is pretty hard.

Antioch is harder but more fun - you get the Canons of the Holy Sepulcher and the uber-cool Edessan Guard, but you can find yourself fighting on two or three fronts. Jerusalem is a lot easier - just rush Egypt with everything you have at the start, go straight for the cities, you don't have to fight every single army they send at you. Richard the Lionheart isn't as good as King Philip though.

Frogbeastegg has a very nice guide written up on both the Crusades and Britannia campaigns.

You can find the link to download them at the SEGA forum site.
