i have try to make some units from the modelers that r here on this great forum..i have made minor changes, at skins and models,that dosent make them mine...i have make this units to play at home.....

They look good,but for a hint i dont think spartans had a bull on there shield

thanx....miltiadis...the shield is from the Dark fenrin skins, from the previews i take it....the officer has the "Λ"

yes but it could be also hoplites from other cretan cities. since there are evidents from Knosos palace that has been found in the excavations, that bull was important for them.

morfeasnikos, I can do no modelling/skinning but I thnk those units look good. I especially like the image of the goddess Tanit on the shields of the Carthaginian unit in the first picture.

The idea came from the preview from the Spartans "Homoioi" from this room but anyway i like the Symbol a lot ....the Carthiginians are from other mod i cant remeber it.....i have just add the units that i find other places.... yesterday i have add a new black praetorian unit that has major changes....i dont have nonw the previw but i have soon....thanx pll for the good words

The Lambda symbol was only used by the Spartans in the later part of the fifth century and onwards. Until then their shields were painted with personalised devices just like any other Greek hoplites. And just because the bull was associated with Dark Age Crete doesn't mean that other Greeks couldn't use the bull device on their shields if they wanted to.

This form has taken this god to make love with Europa.......to the island of Crete.

For the bull on the Spartans... after the Lambda came into use around the beginning of the Peloponnesian War the Spartans again changed the symbol on their shields when the war was over. The perioikoi still carried the Lambda as they were Lacedaemonians in the truest sense... not Spartans. The Spartan Homoioi were Spartans as well as Lacedaemonians. Therefore it was changed so that each Spartan mora had its own symbol. Therefore it was still uniform but had a certain unit pride kind of thing. The bull was one of many symbols used by the Spartans in the Mora system.

At least this is what I've gathered throughout my research of the Spartans but I can't give exact dates... I've been trying to find out the date when the Lambda was replaced
