    Icon4 Beta test for update

    Hey guys,

Here are a few more things I would like to say to beta testers currently helping me test the new update:

First of all this is just to test the stability of the update, nothink else. So you only need to play as normal. As long as no one gets a CTD I am happy. The reason I require more people to test this is I want to make sure there are no bugs before I release this update. I still have not had one crash but that doesn't mean there are no problems. Thankyou for your help, and I am not taking anymore suggestions, this is only for bug testing.

    hope you enjoy it

Anyone who reports to me please tell me the following.

    1. What turn number have you played up to in the update?

    2. Which faction are you playing as in your campaign?

    3. Have you experienced any CTD? (this ones critical).

    4. Say also if you notice anything else that is not working correctly.

That is all I need to know for now, so far there has been no reported issues.
I will leave this beta open until the weekend and then hopefully release the update on Sunday 24/2/08.

    thanks

What to do if you encounter a CTD

    1. First of all run the mod again, click on continue campaign from the main menu. Before you hit the turn button again check toggle FOW off. Check these settlements: London, Paris, Frankfurt, Leon, Venice, Naples, Milan, Edinburgh, Constantinople, Corinth, Novgorod, Kiev, Cordoba, Baghdad, Cairo, Alexandria, Arhus, Lisbon, Krakow, Buda, Bran, Jerusalem, Acre, Antioch, Krak de Chevaliers, Rome, are any of these under siege?

    2. Try ending the turn, does the CTD reoccur? are you able to continue the campaign? If not go to question 3.

    3. Run the mod again and select continue campaign. When it has loaded save the game under a new save name. Now exit the campaign, load the new saved game and click on end turn. Believe it or not this does seem to fix some CTD problems.

So far only one person has reported back to me, so I wait to hear feedback from the rest of you before I can decide whether or not to release this update. I would like to make a decision on whether to release this update or not in the next two days if possible. Thanks for helping guys.

I am still waiting to hear any feedback off some beta testers. Please just let me know what campaign you are playing and what turn you have played up to. I will not release this patch until everyone has reported back in.

    thanks

    The beta is now closed!

Can all beta testers delete the beta download from their hard drives.

You will need to download the new update because I made a few late bigmap fixes to it. Moved London up one square on the map because it was touching the bridge south of it. Repositioned Constantinople and its port. Also one or two settlements were on top of mines (now fixed). One final change I increased the cost of mercs in every region slightly.

Thanks to everyone that helped in testing! This is the last update I will be making so I wanted to be absolutely sure that bugs are now to a minimum. I declare the mod now completely finished! But I may still possibly work on addons for this mod in the future (not patches).
