2 questions, help needed!

Greetings! I just started playing EB after a year of no TW games. I am having a blast but I noticed that the changes I made in my preferences file are not taking effect in game. I still see shadows on the battle field even though I disabled them. I changed both the normal preference file in Vanilla and EB folder but still nothing.

I would also like to remove the arrow trails in battle, but I forgot how

Can someone assist? Thanks!

The one in the ".../Rome - Total War/EB/preferences/" folder is the only file you need to change. If changed and saved it should work. If you are using Vista (and installed RTW into the "Program Files" directory), you may have some problems though.

Arrows and banners are in the preferences file too.

That is the file I changed. Oddly I still see black little blob shadows on the battlefield. And I meant arrows as in the ones shot from bows

Have you tried removing shadows in the option menu from the main menu? That should be the easiest way.

I don't know if there is a way to remove the arrows. :hmmm:

Yes I have tried that. I guess next time I play I will take a screen shot of the shadows. I have all shadow types disabled. I don't think unit shaders has to do with shadows but I have that enabled.

And I know you can remove the arrow trails somehow because I remember playing Rome Total Realism a long time ago and they had them removed. It was a really nice effect but perhaps it was the entire arrow itself that was replaced.. not sure.

Haha yeah well, now that I am hearing them in game I think I could have done a better job. I feel I could have put more emphasis on certain commands. Plus I think you did an overall more quality job on the Latin.

EB is ALOT of fun man, I am glad I gave it a try. I have tried like 10 different factions so far because I could not decide on which to play :hmmm: I am finally settled with playing as the Koinus Hellenis or whatever the Greek Citys are called now. The only thing bugging me is the same music over and over.. I think im going to mod in my 400+ song mod into EB.
