    Is this mod good/worth downloading?

I played the Rome Total Realism for RTWW, thought it was good.

I was wondering if there is a comprable mod for Medevil II?

This fourm had the most amount of people, so i thought it might be decent....

or should i just return to RTR?

Most mods hosted in this website are good for certain people.
DLV is usually considered almost as universally awesome as SS and BC

There certanly is some room for imporvement in this mod, but it is good for free, actualy it is realy good for free. If you are looking for some thing with an emphasis on realisum you might look elce where though, Stainless Steel is a good one for realisum as that is more their focus.

well, nothing is perfect. But dlv has much less lag then kingdoms, at least for me. I find this mod to be challenging and fun.

DLV is a great mod. The only bad thing you might experience is repetitiveness in campaigns due to frequent updates and having to start over.

    Thanks for the input guys.

I think i will give this mod a shot... the Vanilla METWII is just down right boring, and annoying because of those dammed inquisitors...

Me and my bro are the kinda guys who will play the same game file for a LONG time... so i hope that i will not need to restart a bunch of times...

Is there a website that had a bunch of info oon this mod?

    Just my two cents:

Things I enjoy about Deus Lo Vult:

    1. The new campaign map- big and stunning. I'm generally not too fond of mods that increase the number of provinces because they usually resort in "Siege Total War" which emphasize which I personally find the least interesting part of the game: city/castle assaults/sieges. However, here they not only added new provinces, but also enlarged the map resulting in huge provinces and lots of field battles.

    2. The governor/general feature which is a brilliant concept, and makes one wonder why didn't someone at CA come up with such an idea. Also, the implementation of this feature is really well done considering that the game was not really designed for it.

    3. New skins, flags ect. All very nice.

    Things I dislike:

    1. The fact that all factions can horde upon losing their last settlement (ex: the Milanese and Armenians horded in my most recent game) . I disliked this feature so much that I returned to Stainless Steel. I just don't buy it historically and find it tiresome as a game feature.

    2. Campaign unit flags that no longer indicate the force size of its army. Another feature that detracts from gameplay.

    3. The literal clouds of "blood" erupting from units being hit by missles. It's rather aburdly overdone.

    4. Scripted rebel spawning.

Deus Lo Vult is like all mods. It has some features I really enjoyed, but added things I didn't like. It's a question of personal taste as to whether the things that worked overcome that the things that don't. Personally, the "all factions hording" feature was the gamekiller which overrode the things that I did like. I'm really impressed with the work done with this mod, but after giving it a whirl I decided it wasn't my cup of tea.

I kind of like it even if it does look like they've all been hit with a heavy machine gun!! My only gripe with this mod would be the wait between turns even when you are playing to the vanilla script. But even that doesn't bother me too much and I have to say this is definately one of the best total war mods I have ever played.

Although it does add another strategic element. You have to fully plan your attacks, does the enemy have a full stack waiting to defend your next target province, or is it completely undefended? Or is that just some 1 unit army near your borders on its way to enforce somewhere else or an invasion army.

I have to admit that i haven't played that version yet, but i do like the idea.

Although the very quick updates go lead to alot of restarting campaigns.

The next feature im looking forward too is the navigable rivers, which should add another dimension to gameplay. It will mess you up, especially if the AI uses naval invasions, no where will be safe.

DLV is a mod I always come back to, it's certainly my favorite, though I also enjoy the Sicilian Vespers, and the different focus of Broken Crescent.
    DLV's the tops.

Honestly this is one of the best TW mods I have played (aside from RTR - that will always be the best) but this is up there with it.

    Best features:

Everything feels Medieval, its got a much more colorful feeling than Vanilla and more true to the medieval style.

Historically significant families, I love playing as the Kingdom of Jerusalem and somehow getting the Leper king to have children (Price Guy died before ascending the throne. I'm waiting for Guy's son to take the throne before the Leper king's son becomes king) Very cool politics in this game as a result of the RPG elements. the RPG elements are the most addicting element in this mod.. and its the only mod that has them.

Cavalry is awesome in this mod and isn't useless like in Vanilla. You may want to bring Cavalry along to sieges from now on its funny because they all pile into the middle of a city and then your cavalry just charges into the center Easiest way to gain XP for them.

    Worst Features:

The AI can be retarded - Had a full 2 stacks attack Jerusalem.. They just sat there.. No attacking. ?! I slowly ate away at their army till it was nothing with cavalry. Didn't make sense why they just didn't attack, the battle was 1:1?!.

Kings Die in stupid ways.. Alright so I was going to attack this army outside of Britain in my British game. During the battle my archers were firing at the enemy archers coming towards us.. I sent my General to attack the archers.. He was hit by a friendly arrow.. The game ended with my army retreating immediately after he had died and the stats showed "Lost 1 Man" This is because of the new hit point settings. Sadly Prince richard had died earlier as well during the battle for York. (Playing on VH/VH with all scripts). Result was faction destroyed
