best option on gamespy? and some other questions...

Hi guys, so let me just say, I used to play multi battles on medieval1 and viking inv, played rome but really never online. so I'm a veteran general, but a noobie to the current state of multiplayer battles on gamespy...

so I just uninstalled Medieval2 and Kingdoms to make a clean slate for multiplayer battles on gamespy, but I have a few questions:

A) installation order: should it be, med2, then 1.2, then 1.3, then kingdoms? or med 2, 1.2, kingdoms, then 1.3?

B)am I better off not loading kingdoms at all?

C)can I use kingdoms units online if I load 1.3 but not kingdoms itself?

D) What do the majority of multiplayer battle users have loaded? in otherwords, whats the most compatable patch setup to play on gamespy with the most people online? Is the retrofit mod a must?

E) also I loaded gamespy arcade, and got a new gamespy ID, now when loging into gamespy do you; A)launch the game and go to multiplayer, or B)go to gamespy and launch from there?

I tried earlier to get online earlier with my old installation but had all sorts of problems - gamespy didnt see kingdoms (I dont know if it should or not?) and I couldnt see any rooms, in fact, the whole gamespy interface was kinda confusing compared to how it used to be when i used to play Med1...

Anyway, any help would be appreciated, I'm a mature general, better than the average noobie, and I'm just getting really frustrated trying to get online, anyone have any help for me???

1)Install Medieval 2 Total War v1.0
2)Install Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms
3)Kingdoms will install patch v1.2+v1.3
4)Kingdoms will then install the Americas,Britannia,Teutonic and Crusades campaign
5)Done

No. In order to play with Kingdoms' units online, you'll need the specific campaigns installed.

I haven't tried out the retrofit mod, so I'm not too sure. And to be honest with you mate, M2TW's online community is very small when compared with Blizzard's Battle.Net population. I have only noticed four to eight vanilla M2 and Kingdoms games online.

a)Start the game
b)Click on Multiplayer
c)Type in your Gamespy ID, e-mail address,and password
d)Log in
e)You will be taken to M2TW's online lobby
