I must of done somthing wrong cos the A.I is even worse now in retrofit. Ive just Conquered both france Scotland Spain without no one attacking me or any of my citys and im on turn 102.
You just place those files into retrofits Data folder right?
I've just installed this and I must say that I have exactly the same thing. seems to be the quietest most boring game ever:hmmm: The diplomacy AI is great though. I took the descr_strat file and put it where its supposed to go, overwrote the other. Dunno if i've done something wrong but i'm quite disappointed.
Also, I had the issue when, while being attacked by defenders (sallying out) while laying siege to an enemy settlement, the AI General did not move from the square, when his army routed their own gates would not open for them, and my cavalry would not enter the city. Back on the first page it is mentioned to delete descr_pathfinding.db in the data folder of Retrofit, but I started the campaign without this file anyway (it was not there on installation). I have deleted it again after it regenerated but it hasn't done anything to fix the issue.

I had a diplomacy problem, unless it's supposed to be this way.
I offered trade rights to a few factions as the Moors and it said "Very Generous" and they still demanded over 3000 monies for trade rights, when it's already "Very Generous." Making more income by trade rights is tough when I spend so much to get them....
What's wrong with this AI? The only difference I can see in the sieges is that my cavalry can't get in the town/castle. (pathfinding issues)
How do I install this correctly if I currently have patch 1.6 and Custom Campaign 2 only?
im confusedwhich is the latest version that works with retrofit/grand unit add on ? and does it need patch 1.5 coz i cant get that to work.
Guys based on what I have read there should be no problems with the version I have on the first post and patch 1.5. It does not need patch 1.5, you will be fine without it. By the way dom385: if you were having trouble with the US version of the patch there is now a fix for it, check it out in the Kingdoms forum.
Also there is no reason it should not work with the latest Grand Unit Addon Mod. However, it will NOT work correctly if you install the latest GUAM over your current one. You must re-install the XAI over it again. Do this and everything should work fine.

Does this change the battle AI?
Yes. It was an improvement over Kingdoms originally but now that the patch is out I'm not sure if it's still better. I haven't really looked at the new Battle AI.
If you wish to leave the Battle AI, do not replace the following files:
battle_config.xml
config_ai_battle.xml
descr_formations.txt
descr_formations_ai.txt
descr_pathfinding.txt

We will be updating these files soon, BTW the desc-strat file must be installed in you imperial_campaign folder, over write the original, or rename it first.

Hi All! Any news/forecasts for the new, improved CAI? I keep seeing various references to it on Xeryx's main thread, but there doesn't seem to be any new version on Filefront. And the new "Integration Thread" is a great resource also.
Definitely appreciate all the BAI work, but I really don't fight that many battles (mostly just the "evenly matched" ones) so the CAI holds a special interest for me personally.

No new CAI yet, I am working on it..I will be testing it in PDER first..then I will, or QAR will, convert the files for this..patience. BTW I have had great success with the whole port wars. It will be a couple of weeks, working on both BAI and CAI is pretty taxing.

Me too! Absolutely! I've been following your main thread patiently waiting for a new CAI. Since reports indicate so much has been added/customized I've been a little leery of trying to implement it from another mods version, but dadgum it I was ready to give it a shot if that was the only option.
