    Deus lo vult Patch 5.4 beta7
    there was not supposed to be a public beta but why not...

    ....

    Prerequisites:
    - clean 5.3 with no other submods on it
    - Delete the bin files in the text folder and map.rwm in the base folder before starting

    If you have downloaded the beta7 patch of DLV 5.4 then please give detailed feedback on the new\changed features:
    - the dynamic events
    - the roleplay triggered settlement recruitement\constructing
    - army composition of the AI
    - cathar heresy: the 2 forts are the cathar forts: Montsegur and Quéribus in the Pyrenees
    - What is the effect of the navigable river on the AI ?

    Changelogs:

    - fixed modeldb error

    beta6:
    - Age of Darkness
    - fixed invisible aztecs: back to vanilla
    - enhanced the cathar troops
    - included hre skinpack from Tyre: thanks to Isilendil

    changed the roleplay building\recruiting requirements
    - you need a Governor (any subject any rank) to upgrade and build anything. Nobody in the settlement--> no building possible
    - Horses are the most valuable units on the battlefield. A horse belongs to a knight. So if you want to recruit horse units, you have to place a character of the military career into the settlement. If not then you get only the units of the lowest building stables.

    So here is the recruitment of horse units:
    Anybody --> Stables units
    Knights ---> Stables units + new Knight stables units
    Banneret --> Knight units + new Baron Stables units
    Commander --> Baron units + new Earls_stables units
    GrandCross + Character with Crown --> All units


    beta5:
    - lifted death age from 30 to 50 years
    - reinstalled banners on the strat map
    - changed danube to full navigable river: sea trade, ports for Nuremberg, Vienna, Pest, Bucharest
    - added resource symbols to the eco buildings
    - higher core buildings (walls) give negative trade boni to reduce money overflow
    - added recruit priorities to edu file
    - reduced defensive skills of pike phalanx troups
    - two dynamic events : trade_fair, banquet have effects on governor career
    - fixed wrong governor career triggers
    - kiev/armenia/georgia strat models: Isilendil
    - many new generals/captains/leaders battle models: Isilendil
    - added byzanz, russia skins from Disgruntled Goat mod: thanks to Isilendil
    - renamed\added governor career ancilliaries
    city: new governor_path ancilliaries
    Magistratus Inferior
    Magistratus Superior ................... get the ancillary governors ring
    Magistratus Nobile .....................get the ancillary governors coin
    Magistratus Excellentis ..................get the ancillary governors key


    beta4:
    - included latest v3 kivals, isilendil update, activate of economic buildings, traits (not all), russian, lit strat skin
    - new buildings related to economic events (deleted some season relations).
    - new economic agriculture event
    - governor and general career are now seperated up from level 2 (e.g. > knight)



    beta3
    - map: added ;lakes: constanze, balaton, geneve...;rivers: england, ireland, france (Seine)
    - streamlined script: unique kings
    - added cathar heresy in the pyrenees
    - added text for new eco buildings
    - bugfixer: timurid names, turnalive,..
    - reduced spawn rates for all dynamic events


    beta2
    - included partially changecapital from Lord finga: only cost of capital change 10000 + negative loyalty effects
    - removed non_family tree minimod
    - included Isilendil bugfixes

    - added unique kings: from Harry Lime

    Please fix recruit able cavalry for Lithuania. (Ducal Cavalry requires 60% Catholic ? not pagan?)

    and another unit.. cannot remember... anyways, please fix that, because that is the only thing that has stopped me from playing as Lithuania.

    Hold on, I only just got 5,3 and there is already 5.4 beta version5!!!! I'll never finish a campaign!! Seriously though, loving this mod and what you have done with the Danube sounds very interesting. Look forward to it coming out

    repman I should mention that in order to get my game to work i had to delete all the string files ^^ and map.rwm ^^ after that it worked like a charm ^^

    The River is absolutely great Repman! Hope to see more navigatable routes soon! Been watching the Ai battle around that area for a while now (im over in Ireland with toggle_fow and following AI turns to see the changes)
    After playing a fair few years of this as Ireland i'm going to have to back up my previous oppinion on the RPG settlement upgrades and say that I absolutely loathe it! If anything it should be an optional module/addon!
    Traits seem to be working a lot better then before, im no longer getting duplicate or conflicting traits!
    AI armies are no longer massive stacks of crap! They havea nice sensible mix that seems to work well!
    The beta appears to be pretty stable as well with no crashes and lower turn times!
    So all in all, great work - just hope to see that stupid RPG settlement levels removed!

    - New generals/captains/leaders battle models for all factions
    - New rus/kiev/armenia/georgia strat models

    Could you not use diplomats for cities and spies for castles for the triggered settlement upgrades?

    You could have a spy or more be required to have a subterfuge of 5 or so, to be able to get the upgrade trait for castles (stolen military secrets, or some such). Maybe have this available only when a spy ends in another factions settlement if possible, to represent an successful infiltration mission.

    Then you could have a diplomat or more with a influence of 5 or so, gain the upgrade trait for cities (purveyor of craftsmen or some such). Could have the diplomat require the trait "Orchestrate an alliance", to represent the free flowing of people and ideas between the two factions.

    Using spies and diplomats (if possible), would be less restrictive and easier to obtain, allowing the player to control the events and roleplay them at the same time. As it stands right now they are rather restricted to game mechanics and not much is left up to chance.

    I am assuming these are the two forts with the half stack garrison, south of France by Narbonne? I am also guessing this is why the Pope ordered a crusade in 3 of my 5 games that I played on the city of Narbonne? Which each of them happened about 20 or 30 turns into play.

    If that was the desired affect, then it has been successful in most cases. Problem being that the two forts near there are taken fairly early by France. Though the one rebel stack in the fort by Narbonne usually goes out patrolling near the city and survives a few turns longer than the other. I think a larger stack or better units in the garrison would help to deter France better, for them not to take them so early. Maybe a unit replenishing script for the city of Narbonne so they can put up a greater fight, as they are rather easily taken out by France early on. Mostly France has a stack or two down there already, not allowing for most crusading factions time to gather an army and be there on time.

    Maybe a rather simple and obvious question, but do these event bonuses and negatives happen only happen when you accept or decline?

    Gaias- If something like this "must" be done.... I like your idea much better than the current idea.... I just don't think most players even try to get 2 knights-crosses... For some countries it wouldn't even be fun to try to.. The idea as it stands at the moment is the only feature that has ever been added to DLV that I truly dislike. There is nothing fun about it in my opinion... It's just going to force people to go thrashing around the map trying to acquire these two uber-generals to the detriment of all of the other cool features in the mod..... There has to be a better way to slow down city growth if that is the desired effect..... Even EB like house rules ( or reforms) are a better solution....

    In EB for instance, different empires have to achieve different conditions to achieve reforms... But in EB's case these conditions are multi-faceted and challenging to achieve ( and to some extent based on real history)....But it's fun to try to get them... I know Valantine and I are just a few voices in the choir but consider what we are saying. I know for myself, This is my favorite mod ever and I just want it to stay as great in the future as it is now... - Peace out!

    I've installed 5.4beta5, deleted string-files and map.rwm and its stable without one CTD so far. The beta appears to be pretty stable as well with lower turn times.

    Spain, VH/VH, 1200

    - the dynamic events
    coming now at a slower rate

    - army composition of the AI
    only fought against rebels but they have a good mix of units. More desertation on my own armies in the field who are without a general.

    - cathar heresy: the 2 forts are the cathar forts: Montsegur and Quéribus in the Pyrenees
    I've seen these two wooden forts with about 10 units and 1 General each.
    One fort I'm currently attacking and the other fort is besieged from France.

    - what is the effect of the navigable river
    The River is absolutely great Repman! Hope to see more navigatable routes soon. Probably "Rhein+Seine" for France,Germany,Flanders and "Wolga+ Dnjepr" for Kiev, Novgorod. I'm feeling now like a VIKING who sails up the river to raid the cities.

    - the roleplay triggered settlement upgrade
    After playing 20 years as Spain I don't like the new element. I've got only 4 Generals and it takes too much time to level them up to get the option to upgrade your city/castle. Currently I only can create "Jinets,Peasant Archers, Peasant and Town Milita/Spearman". Without my tweaked "desc_mercenaries.txt" it would be hard to get a strong army.

    The new roleplay-element is the only negative addition in my opinion.
    It should only be an optional module/addon!

    Bye the way the new strat-models for the generals are looking great!!!
