Which faction should i start a campaign as?

Lithuania
Denmark
Norway
Mongols
Poland
Papal States

Papal states are fun. go around excommunicating others. Get paid to reconcile!

Lithuana , because they have the best skins , plus they have some unique features ^^

As for a second choice, I would play as Poland because you cannot enjoy playing as Lithuania without the fix (you cannot recruit some types of cavalry due to an error in the pre-requisites, e.g. Ducal Cavalry, need 60% catholic.......needs to be fixed to Pagan)
The problem is, there is no fix, so play as Poland... you will have an enjoyable time dealing with everything around you.

nobody likes norway? thats disapointing... i love norway there one of my favorite factions. How do you excomunticate factions?

I like Norway

but I voted for the Mongols. I just love wreaking havoc on the more 'civilised' European factions.

Only the Pope excommunicates factions but I assume (never played the Papal States) that it only happens when the AI is in the Vatican.

I know for a fact that any faction that goes to war with the PS gets excomunicated, so you could probly just attack who ever you don't want in your church, port blocaids would probly work wonders for that.

Norway is an OK faction, I jsut don't like the starting location. Poland and the PS are good due to the unit mix and starting location.

I vote for Lithuania because they got an interesting mix of eastern and western units. My last campaign was with Norway and I conquered Constantinople. Denmark is similar to Norway.

I've never tried until now Poland and the PS. But as PS it could be fun.

Another interesting faction are the Mongols. Invade europe with horse-archers
