iberian cavalry
is it just me or is the cavalry of the iberian tribes unfairly more powerful than the carthigan horsemen. it may be I'm just annoyed at getting beaten when it comes to a carthigian v.s iberian cavalry but I thought historically Hamiclar's cavalry was meant to be far better equipped and better trained

Re: iberian cavalry
Which cavalry do you mean exactly? The one with mail armor and javelins? I need the exact name and I`ll check. Also, are you refering to the campaign battles or the custom ones?

Re: iberian cavalry
As florin80 has posted you need to supply more information as the details you have posted are vague.
How are you using the cavalry?
Do they both charge at each other or is it in some melee?

Re: iberian cavalry
sorry for the lack of information earlier
i noticed this when playing the first battle of the carthiginian campaign on medium/easy
Hamiclar Barca (general's bodyguard) and a unit of Carthiginian cavalry
charged at full speed into the rear of unsuspected (marching) unit of Cactabien cavalry and iberian scrutaii mercenary cavalry
this was why i thought it was strange that my cavalry units quickly began taking more losses than the enemy very quickly barely before they even got bogged down in melee
thanks for any help

Re: iberian cavalry
The scutarii cavalry is one of the best available. The cantabrian should not be since they`re a missible armed light cavalry. It also depends on how you use your own cavalry. Wheather or not you manage to make an efective charge for example. Take a look at this guide:

Re: iberian cavalry
thanks for your help
im just glad there may be some reason behind my cavalry getting beaten besides my own stupidty. Im pretty sure they made an effective charge by the way as they charged at the last second and hit them quite hard. The enemy just didn't seem to take any damage though
thanks again

Re: iberian cavalry
Charge cannot be effective when the enemy is moving away from your unit. You should always fix the enemy before charge.

Re: iberian cavalry
Punic cavalry is probably the best in the game.
