    Default Ave Quirites!

It's been a very long time since I last had anything to do with RTR, and lots has changed for me personally (married, moved, etc). But I still have a soft spot for this wonderful mod, and am downloading Platinum as we speak.

For those who don't remember me, I was a (sometimes argumentative, but generally fair) moderator on the old RTR fora. Often liked to stick my oar in the developer's page on historical matters too, which I'm sure they appreciated...

Anyway, given the forum is defunct for the time being, does anyone know what happened to my guide? The one about behaviour becoming to a True Roman, detailing how to play the game with an eye to history rather than effectiveness. Did it survive the death of the forum in a separate form?

I ask because I never saved it anywhere, and I'd like to use it for my first RTR game in years!

I was about to ask Red or MCM to repost the guide here since quite a few people has been asking about it... But since you're here I guess you can officially request it to be reposted here..

p/s: Have you tried TIC ?

How do I go about formally requesting a repost?

TIC? I'm behind on pretty much everything that's going on, so I don't know what anything means any more!

TIC = The Iberian Conflict which is basically RTR VII (previously known as RTR 7) act I.

Consider it a prelude, playable demo, showcase, re-introduction of RTR back into the mod scene..

p/s: No romans there yet though...

Ah, right. I'll give PE a good going over first, before thinking about TIC. Don't have BI yet in any case, I'm waiting for VII to appear before I do that.

    Ave Quintus!

I've heard Candel put it in with his guide for the ExRM in here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showp...24&postcount=3

Haven't tried it myself yet, though. Been busy modding.

I'd really forgotten how much fun RTR was until I started playing again today.

Hats off to the team who made all this possible. I hope people got as much fun out of the bit of the guide I wrote as I did.

LOL! I asked the same exact question a few days ago!

I'm playing the campaign and reading your guide currently. It's truly amazing!

Hmmm. I wonder if there is any place I can find the posts in old RTR forum? It seems a long history of RTR is lost... (the mod started much earlier than EB right?)

The links I've tried are broken, but like others have said there's an edited version floating around.

And besides which, the edited version has some useful commentary, and goes beyond my original end-date of 133BC.

Though I note in my current game, I forgot to take Ariminium and Arretium right away, and had to fight off a Gaul siege on Ariminium. But they were happy with peace and trading rights so that was settled.

The forum is still accesable for the owners/moderators, so nothing is lost

In Quintus' guide it mentions Italian manipular legionnaires, anyone know which mod does this?

If you're asking which formation mod, I think MCM's one had that as an option. I always custom-build them, so I wouldn't know.
