do the romans get scorpions in the campaign. The are aviable in custom battle but I don't see them in the campaign.

hmmm they should do...as they was removed as they don't have any purpose at all...you should check if it just something that was left out by mistake....but you get stone throwing ones. if they are suppose to be there then something wrong with the mod...
I'M BAAAAACCCCCKKKKKKK!
They used the Scorpion for antipersonal as field artillery; the other artillery pieces except for that repeating ballista (did the Romans really had that?) are more used as siege artillery.
I mean the little bolt shooting ones scutarii not the catapults. Since I can't get them, how would I make recrutiable them into the siege enigeer. I know I would use export_descr_buildings bit I don't know what lines to add.
No no, you misunderstood Scutarii, he said Rome does *still* get onagers. He was sorta suggesting that it's an alternative to not having scorpions.
well I want scorpions too. If I can get them in custom why not in campaign.
because dimebagho don't even bother with custom battles...

I see. Is this still the scorpion's ID: recruit "roman scorpion" 0 requires factions { roman, }
IMO, onagers are the only worthwile siege machines. The ballistas and the scorpion don't seem to even do much damage.
Brand: you have to remember that the Scorpion was really meant as a field artillery, to provide fire support to the legions on the battlefield and sweeping the rapport of men (althought that's easier to say than done).
Scorpions are historical -- onagers are fantasy...
"So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show."

I would love to see bolt throwers made a more useful unit in the game. Onagers beat them hands down at the moment, but as Cherryfunk says the bolt throwing engines were a regular feature of, at least, post marian Roman armies.
I find them to be more accurate and as powerful as ballistas.
