CTDs - IBFD 7.03

Hi

1) The mod is fantastic
2) I constantly get CTDs either at the beginning of a battle (troop deployment) or at the beginning of a campaign round.

Are there fixes for that?
What do you recommend?

i have nor advice nor solution of your problem. just have similar experience with ctd on campaign start but only when i "looked" at central europe on strategic map. i solved it by installation on different computer (with less powerfull processor. yes, less).

Are you playing IBV7.03 or IJV2.01a? The quotes files are known to cause problems with loading screens but those files are only in IJ and not IB?

CTD's that occur when 'looking' at settlements or areas of the strat map, or scrolling over them, are likely caused by the 'faction_creator' being different in descr_regions.txt and descr_strat.txt. had a lot of trouble with this until I made sure they were all the same.

I have managed to find following regions with "faction_creator" difference between descr_regions and descr_strat

Locus_venedae
Tribus_Chattii
Tribus_Lombardi
Tribus_Franki
Tribus_Quaddi
Tripolitania
Gallia_Interior

Are there any more?

the problem might be solved by tqweaking your video settings in 'RTW/ibfd/preferences/preferences.txt'

1-make a backup

2-change the TRUE value to FALSE or vice versa
BATTLE_32_BIT:TRUE
I assume you don't have problem with strat map so no need to change strat map settings

Hmm.What is your version?If it is v7.03 pls go into options folder and install CA strat files.That should do the trick.:hmmm:

I did, as I found this advice in another thread. However since I have run the CA strat the game CTD when loading a campaign.

Played with the resolutions in the game video settings and it seems ok now

I might have to play around with some settings aswell. It seems that everytime I try and start a battle as the Western Roman Empire against the Roman Rebels in africa I get a CTD. Maybe what's suggested in this thread will work out in the end?

I can play for an hour or two without problems and then it can crash 2-3 times in row on the campaign map, I have to play with the resolutions trying to solve the problems. I also got some tactical battle crash also. Outside the relative instability on my computer its a great mod. I will install a new graphic card shortly maybe it will solve the problems.

I think if you already have save and than run CA strat you cannot load it... Correct?
