    Default Hoplites

    I love the Hoplite skins for this mod, but the only thing I'm really against is the overhand motion for hoplite skins. I really like the Athens underhand and the Rhodian, but I really dislike the spartan overhand fighting motion. To me it looks ridiculous, and I was just wondering if there is a way to change it so they fight like how the Athens model does.

    This is me just be nitpicky, but its just my opinion. Other then that mod is great, its just I prefer underhand, even though it might not be 100 percent historically accurate.

    yeah just copy the settings for athenian hoplites that are in the DMB file (descr_model_battle.txt) to the spartan or whatever entry there. We chose to use that thought because on balance it seems historical to have both

    can you give me clear directions no how to, I'm kinda new to modding units. I know how to mod stats, thats about it.

    I think overhand looks fine to be honest, personally I much prefer it to underhand. But that's my opinion. Both methods are known to have been used, and it most likely depended on both the battlefield situation and the formation used.

    I like the way it is now. There are some city hoplites that use underhand (Bosporan, Athenian, Rhodesian, etc.) and some that use overhand (most of the others) so I can choose how I want them and also have some variety.

    They will definitely stay, but we don't know quite yet about adding in any more.

    We'll check out how many sports, etc. we have left to work with after all the faction's units, and then we'll see how many more units we can add. Some of them might be the City Hoplites, but I doubt it.

    I thought we are reskinng the city hoplites to historical standards?

    can anyone tell me the exact way or, what to copy in (descr_model_battle.txt), to enable underhanded spearmen.

    All you have to do is compare the ones that tone suggested http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showp...03&postcount=2). Copy the Athenian Hoplite bits into the Spartan one.

    Having looked at the code it appears as if it may be the 'skeleton' entry - Spartans have fs_s1_hoplite where Athenians have fs_s1_hoplite and fs_s1_slow_swordsman. I'd suggest removing 'fs_s1_slow_swordsman'.

    The only other thing that appears different is the 'model_tri' entry where there is an 'f' in the last parameter.

    I'd suggest making a single change at a time to see what the effect is. Also take a copy of the DMB file before you make any changes.

    Thank you I was playing with the skeleton to begin with, but I will try doing one thing at the time then, I'll see how it goes , and I'll tell how it all played out.

    The thing is, with xgm and RS is different skeletons, so I just coulnd't make it out, I got so confused, but now I finally got it for both for the underhand thingie Thanks alot peeps
