    Default That big empty desert!!

I really like this mod, but one thing that constantly annoys me is the big blank patch in the middle of the Arabian peninsula!! I'm not asking for it to be filled with settlements or even to make it accesible. Just maybe when you capture one of the costal settlements it could include all the centre within its lands. As it is at the moment the map with all the colours on it just looks horrible with the big blank patch in the middle. Just doesn't feel right!!!

I agree Matt, entirely. Perhaps just dividing it into the various coastal cities' provinces would make things look better. + you get one more city to place.

born2dive67, I believe he matt is actually talking about the fact that there is nobody owning that province, and as such it doesn't look quite as good as if it were divided amongst the other provinces and you could see, "oh, look a' that, Oman has all of Arabia" instead of seeing it only having coastal land.. Of course, I admit, Oman would not have "owned" that land, as it was not really owned by anyone due to its very hostile nature, but it wouild be nice to see it included in someone's domain.

I actually disagree with you. No faction has controlled the Arabian Desert at the time. Only coastal Arabian regions where controlled.

Yep, I'm on your side. There's nothing there, no one goes there, no one can go there. It's a sun blasted desert. Now Mongolia...that would be interesting...to have all those nomads wandering around in there and then suddenly appearing in the game...that piques my interest.

I don't mind if it is inaccessible, as long as it is coloured

It may have never been controlled during that time period, but maybe I am the fantastic king who is finally able to control it?

It was never controlled during those times..

...but neither did Milan go on a rampage, conquering whole Europe.

I think it's good noone can control it, actually there should be a grey area in the most North-Western part of the map en most South Western parts as well, there's no way of controling the Ukrainian steppes or the deserts east of Egypt.

Best would be to make a control zone coupled with your line of sight on the campaign map. Right now I imagine I control the area around Siwa Oasis, but the areas covered by Fog of War are areas that are nominally under my control, but were I have little actual influence. If you make the not-in-LOS part diagonally striped or something it could reflect that. For example, the Arabian desert is nominally under a factions control, but has little influence in areas where it has no army or city (thus striped instead of fully colored).

Noooo don't change it, a mod team finally gets it right and ppl want to change it

Its perfect as it is; no major power could afford to conquer all the Arabian tribes in the area + it would screw up gameplay if it was passable.

It's called "the empty quarter" *Arabic - Rub-al-Khali* for a reason.

^^ What merlin said. Though the central desert is known as the "najd". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nejd

Anyways, I may consider ways of adding a province and reducing the size of the unconquerable region, but it shall stay unconquerable. So I think there's no need for discussion on this since I won't be changing it.
