    Default Making BC work with Steam

    First of, gratz on releasing the mod. Having followed it's development since its early days, I became somehow convinced it may never get released

    So, I just had to re-purchase the game and I did so online through the Steam program from the Half-Life company. After that, I made sure the version was 1.03 and I installed BC and the 1.05 patch.

    Now, this may be completely unrelated to Steam, but when I double click the BC icon on my desktop, it starts Steam automatically and then pops up the M2:TW Launcher (God I hate those things). If I then press "Play" from the Launcher, it launches the vanilla game. I can't find any way around that and I can't play BC because of it.

    Thanks for any incite and ways to get around this.

    You need to right click on the Medieval 2 icon in your games list, go to properties, click on the "Set Launch Options" tab and put this in the parameter:

    @bc.cfg

    A sticky for Steam users might be nice, unless its in an FAQ or something already.

    I have located the information for this in the Quick Fix thread. However, there is an additional problem not assessed. When I exit the game, it wipes out my Options configuration. For example, if I set the resolution to 1440x900 in game, it will not remember it the next time I start the game; it will revert it back to the default option. The "fix" to this I have found is to go directly into bc.cfg and make the changes manually.

    It's a pain in the neck. Steam can burn in a fire.

    PS. I love the historical details given in each unit description. Playing ERE now. Big Kudos.
