    Default Questions about maps

I've got a few questions and comments related to maps. Maybe you gentlemen can help me out.

    1. I find it a little annoying in the early game that settlements are hidden until someone walks near. Hasn't anyone in my kingdom traveled before? Is there a way to turn off this 'fog' without revealing anything else?

    2. I also hate it when a faction I'm at war with acquires a settlement in some remote location. I take his 'last' city but surprise, faction is not eliminated. He's got another city somewhere. I don't want to play hide and seek with him. I'd really like to know who occupies settlements. I would think this type of information would be common knowledge among nobility.

    3. And last. Is there a nice pdf or jpg of the medieval map I could download. This would be nice for planning my next campaign.

    Thanks in advance.

The answer to 1 and 2 would be to use the toggle_fow cheat. As for 3 I don't know of one.

Getting map info can also solve problems 1 and 2, without cheating.

You can also find out which cities a Faction owns during Diplomacy by looking at the options in Give Region. Of course, it helps to know where the cities actually are... I had no idea where Caffa was until I was given Kiev in exchange for an Alliance with Poland.

#3 would be really useful, for Kingdoms as well as the GC, and I'm surprised nobody has done it yet.

    Thanks in advance.

That sounds like a bug carried over from Rome: Total War. Whilst playing as Rome, I thought I had defeated the Greek City States however latter in the game I found out to my dismay that they had settlement in North West Russia (normally occupied by the token Amazon faction).

Did they expand that far northwards? Never seen that before, never seen a faction take that Amazonian settlement either. Lots of attempts by the Germans, but none succesfull (chariots are horribly overrated in autocalcing).
