Default Red Roses banned for Valentines Day in Saudi Arabia

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/...ine/index.html

I mean all things red...Its not a religious celebration. Its a holiday for the people, by the people.

Or is it that Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern country religious scholars are loosing control over their people and try to ban anything western? Your thoughts...:hmmm:

More and more I'm begining to think that Islam just isn't much fun.
As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white ****” as they beat me.

Personally I'd be all for a Valentines Day ban in the West.

With a ban on red gift items over Valentine's Day in Saudi Arabia, a black market in red roses has flowered.

Wow, a completely irrational and fanatic thing done by Saudi Arabia, what a surprise.

I hereby declare the color green (saudi flag) banned on twc until after Valentines Day....that will show em. Nothing surprising really, last week Saudi religious police arrested an American business woman for sitting with a male coworker at Starbucks. So never shocked at the insanity that comes out of SA. Though I was suprised they have a Starbucks in SA, figured espresso would be illegal under some vaguely worded law by some old, bearded man from hundreds of years ago.

Yes. That would be something like the Cavalry Assembly of God church a few miles away from my house. Where they are not suppose to dance and other things like that.

Edit: As for the banning of red items on St. Valentine's day....that is really dumb. All this really is for is to slow down the import of Western culture. However they fail to realize the goal of the American free market is to destroy all other cultures and replace it with our form of materialism.

I can't blame them for essenially banning the typical celebration of Valentine's day. It is, after all, historically a Christian holiday, which clearly conflicts with their radical Islamic views and it does encourage the kind of behavior that they find immoral. I'm not surprised or outraged. I'd be surprised if America did this but why are we so shocked that Saudi Arabia would do such a thing? It isn't exactly a beacon of freedom and tolerance, nor does it attempt to be.

They know of Valentine's day in Saudi Arabia ??
Wow, you learn something new each day.
As for the banishment of the color red, come on, it's Saudi Arabia.
Did anyone expect anything else from them ??

Wait, what if they execute someone and he bleeds, does he get double punishment then or will they ignore it ??
