Before the other thread descended into the mudslinging and flaming, i thought the political issues regarding the 'new anti-semitism' which that particular thread brought up were higly profound.

(I hesitate to use the term 'anti-semitism' because by definition it implicates all semitic peoples, but since that is the term so easily understood by people in this day and age to mean 'anti-jewish', i've been forced for convenience's sake, to include it into my title.
Henceforth, i shall be more specific by using the term 'anti-jewish' to describe elements opposed to the jewish faith, and 'anti-israeli' to specify people opposed to the actions of the state of Israel.
To avoid confusion, i hope that people will continue to use these terms of specificity throughout this thread.)

to be specific, i hate christianity, judaism and islam- the three judeo-christian religions.
As for other religions, i'm fairly neutral, so long as they dont harbour a policy of 'us-against them' mentality and racism.

as for my spiritual beliefs, they dont fall into any category, hence why i'm an atheist.

i dont hate all religions, but if ur wondering why i happen to hate the three judeo-christian religions, i'll tell you.

1) i hate them all philosopically. To me, they are comparable to stalinism, Nazism and Ingsoc. Reading the holy scriptures of them all is, i find, anathema to my sensibilities.
2) what has a christian done to me lately? perhaps i had an ex-mate who went born again christian, and my initial apathy for the religion turned to black hatred after a coupla months because of his behaviour. and perhaps i had a run in with a coupla fundies once upon a time....

Come on Mansa. A semi-religious jewish friend of mine tried to drag me to a "palestinain solidarity" talk at uni today which was going to talk about the injustices of the security barrier. Another jewish friend of mine is helping out his sister cos she wants to marry a muslim guy and he's trying to break it to his family and help his future brother in law. I dont like israeli foreign policy, but i respect the jewish faith.

good luck with that. getting the muslim family to allow him to marry a jew. lol well anyway i don't think all jews are bad people. it's just there movements and agendas that disturb me.
