    Default Dragon Ball Z

Im not usually one to take an interest in anime or manga etc

But I just think that DBZ is freakin cool!
I watched it when I was a kid, like from 5 years old to 10 years old.
And I came across one of the games real cheap in a second hand shop when looking for recording equipment and I thought 'What the heck'

Its totally different to what I remember, theres like super saiyan 4 now
    Its my lame passion

What do you guys think of DBZ?

I think that it is hilariously bad(no offense man). Half of each episode is spent powering up to fight. when they bother to get around to fighting they sporadically stop to power up some more. when all else fails they just stare at each other and hyperventilate for about 30 seconds. rinse repeat.

I can see where youre coming from, Im not really down with the whole

*Stop fighting* "Ah, youre very strong"
"You too, but im more powerful than you, ha"
    "Well youre stupid" *Smirks*
    "Ah you fool"

    Thing they got going there

I must admit I dont really know the story much past the buu saga. But I think they just look oh - so swish

Dragonball/Z(Dragonball and Dragonball Z) is by far(well maybe not "by far" Bleach is ok...but...the manga is starting to get...dumb) the best fighting anime I've ever seen(I watch ALOT of anime).

    No stupid mecha.

    No weapons.

    Just hand-to-hand grappling.

When people have to leave the continent just to give you room to fight...

When you need an entire planet to fight...

When you blow stuff up while warming up to fight...

When your swings-and-misses knock over stuff...

I'm disappointed on a daily basis that noone ever tried to do DB/Z imitation like all the mecha anime they constantly regurgitate.

I literally feel sorry for anyone that has to suffer through watching the shows dubbed instead of subbed. You'll never know the real Goku, you only have that idiot that the dubs turn him into...

According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.

oh god it's terrible. The whole show is people standing in a line having internal monologue while glaring angrily at the people in the other lines.

Plus the power levels are ridiculous and inconsistent. I mean, someone with a power level of like 5000 or something (vegeta the first time we see him) can blow up a planet relatviely easily, but 600 episodes later when they are apparently 1000x stronger, their beam attacks miss and only blow up part of a small mountain? Shouldn't they be destroying planets with every hit?

I liked it when I was a kid, but there's no way I would now.

If they used full power, which they rarely do. It's even mentioned a couple of times in the show that they[Saiyans] can't use their full power on planets because it was too dangerous.

During the Buu Saga it's even mentioned that the planet Buu/Goku fight on is much denser(or something) and that was the only reason they could fight there.

When Gohan learns to go Super Saiyan, Goku makes him constantly use the form and do things like eat/drink, in order to learn how to control the power.

So no, they shouldn't be destroying planets with every hit.

    To use more power...

Any true hardcore fan will watch the series in japanese.
Anyone who wanted to see Dragonball/Z should watch them in Japanese. The (bleep) that's in dub shouldn't even be called DB/Z...they don't have the same personalities...plots are altered...it's practically not the same show.

Completely true!!! Vegeta was the coolest character in the series, plus he was a lot more complex when it came to his personality and life strugless. Goku was boring when it came to all of that, and I hated how they made Vegeta get all beat up all the time even after he tried his best...

i know seriously! i want to see vegeta being the hero of the saga instead of goku. vegeta goes in first starts off winning then BOOm he gets his ass kicked then goku saves him and finishes the bad guy off. they should make a dbz movie with just vegeta and trucks destroying aliens or something

From the youtube channel showed below. Watch all the eps, they're great. Short background, Vegeta in this parody HATES the word "mystic", from "mystic gohan" (and everything with the word mystic), as such he hates mystic gohan.

    Best Dragonball parodies on youtube.

You guys are missing the point. Rather than complain how ridiculous it is, you should sit back and enjoy the intensity and passion of the English dubbing.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times:

The English DBZ dub is SHAKESPEAREAN-in-magnitude. The intensity and heart the dub was given - something never seen again in the dubbing industry - is all the reason anyone needs to enjoy the show.

Shakespearean? Really? Well, I used to hear people in the series calling out "haha, sucker", but that does sound like anti-shakespearean stuff.

The power levels are an extremely important part of the DBZ universe.

There are some versions of the powers levels lists. The most important would be the power levels in the manga and in the anime. I preffer the manga power levels, they're more realistic.

    Manga power levels: http://www.myfavoritegames.com/dbz/p...evels(new).htm

While GT wasn't as glorious as the glolden age of Dragonball (DBZ), it was still acceptable. On the other hand the movies were great, especially DBZ movies 1, 5, 8 and 12.

Ah, DBZ. It was pretty sweet until the Cell and Buu sagas. But then again, the series was supposed to end after Freiza. Didnt those last 2 series feel tacked on to you guys? Dont even get me started on GT

Oh well, the DBZ Tenkaichi games are fun as hell.
