A humble proposal:
I think the map and work done by the greats of Broken Crescent lends itself to a possible Late Era Expansion. The expansion could cover the Middle East from the mid-Thirteenth Century. This is the era of Mongol successor states. Possible factions could include:
1) Byzantium: (post 1261) weak but having just recovered Constantinople from the Latin States.
2) Trebizond: another Byzantine dominion that broke away after the Fourth Crusade, now independent, but little more than a city state.
3) The Golden Horde: Stretching across the steppe North of the Black Sea: rivals to the Ilkhanate and contesting for control of Azerbaijan.
4) Georgia: A small Christian enclave.
5) Seljuks of Rum: occupying central Anatolia and vassals to the Ilkhanate.
6) Armenia: Ostensive allies of the Ilkhanate, looking to survive in an age of great power politics
7) Kingdom of Acre: the last outposts of the Crusader states.
8) Mamluke Sultanate of Egypt: Bitter enemies of the Ilkhans.
9) Ilkhanate:Occupying the central position across a larger Persia: looking to avenge the loss at Ain Jalut as well as vie for supremacy against their Mongols rivals.
10) Chagatai Khanate: Based in and around Transoxiana. Positioned to play against any weakness of the Ilkhans or move on India.
11) Sultanate of Delhi: A mamluk state like Egypt. A potential contender out of India.
