Default How does event timing work?

The title pretty much says it all. how does event timing work? ive read that if it says (date 4) then its at the 4th turn and ive heard 4th year. im kinda leaning towards year cuz i figured it up and some of the later events wouldnt happen in vanilla if its the number of turns into the game. for example
    event historic football_banned
    date 234

but there are only 225 turns in vanilla. i ask because i changed to .5 timescale and i want to make sure my evens are still happening at the rite time.

    Hello, Kegtap

Sorry you didn't get a reply dude. As far as your question goes, in the 'descr_strat' file there's a section in the beginning of the file that determines the years per turn. If you have it set to two years or one year/turn then the events in the 'descr_events' happen in the same year. The reason for this is that the game automatically divides the year by two when the campaign is set to two years/turn. Take the 'first_windmill' event for example. At one year/turn the event will happen exactly 50 (vanilla has it set at date 50) turns after the start date which brings you to the year 1130. If the campaign is set to two years/turn then the event will occur 25 turns after the start date so thus bringing you to the same year...saves alot of date changing...hehe!

However, if it's set to half a year per turn (which is what you said you set your campaign on) then you have to double the years in the 'descr_events'. ie, instead of date 50 for 'first_windmill' you will have to times that by two which will give you 100 in order for it to occur in the right year and you would have to do that for all the dates of course.

Hope that was helpful and accurate mate

    cheers
