Default A few comments on the latest version

Hello all. I've downloaded the newest version (the 5.6 one) and in my latest campaign some weird things have been happening, some bad, but mostly good.

    Here's the pic:

Well, I'll say the bad thing first: What's with all those pirate ships clustered around Burdigala? If there's any way to get the ships to not cluster around there, it would be great, because at this stage in the game, my crappy barb ships can't hope to compete with those stacks; their full of large boats (the better barb ships), which I can't build yet, and certainly not in that number.

But, there are many more good things I would like to notice about this pic. For one, Baktria isn't dead! This is also the biggest I have ever seen them get, I hope this isn't a one-off for them. Is also good to see TSE crumbling, as historically they did. Don't get me wrong, I love it when they do well, I just like to see some chance in these things. Usually TSE dominates in my campaigns.
One last thing: Saba is back! (or more correctly, their finally here!) I've never seen them this aggresive before, and you may not be able to see it from that mini-map there, but they're actually siegeing Bostra (the city South of Palmyra), and have an army heading for one of the rebel cities east of them. At this rate they may actually hamper the Ptolemies, usually they just sit around their starting cities, moping. Although once I saw them take the two rebel cities east of them, then they just sat there for 50 years.

Anyway, my two cents about the new version. Whatever you did, the AI is behaving a lot better. Great work Dime and looking forward to more of this great stuff.

The independant Gauls typically overcome the regular Gauls and take over modern day France.
Gaul only has two settlements left and have survived because I'm watching over them (and the Romans as well) to prevent the Germans from winning.

Another weird thing in that pic I didn't mention, was the Indie Greeks took Cannae and still hold it, 14 years into the campaign. Now, I've played a bit more and two turns later the Romans siege and take Cannae and Tarentum, but still pretty remarkable as the Romans usually have all of Italy and Sicily by now in my campaigns. And then comes the Gallic Invasion!Muahahhahaha! We shall sack Rome a 2nd time!

Grilled kraut and onions on a goose dog....mmmmm. Oh yeah, don't forget the mustard.

    That's a nasty band of pirates there...yarrrrrr

I think EB went through a similar problem though the pirates were massing in the seas above Germania, in much much bigger numbers.

The massed pirates arise in that part of the map because there are only a few factions with ports on that part of the sea and they don't go in for building ships much. So the pirates tend to dominate and build up over time, rather than being thinned out like they are in the Med.
