    Default A Hadith of Muhammad..

Well some of you may know these hadiths of the prophet Muhammed of Islam. Please tell me what intention do you perceive from these words..

Provocation or Prediction? Please indicate one of these and please share with me what led you to believe either of them,or why do you think you perceived that way.

I myself am a bit confused and couldn't decide. So I thought to myself why not enlist the thoughts and help of the venerable fellow twc members

Here I post a few variation of the particular Hadith:

Narrated Abu Huraira: • Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Turks; people with small eyes, red faces, and flat noses. Their faces will look like shields coated with leather. The Hour will not be established till you fight with people whose shoes are made of hair."

    • The hour will not be established till the Turks Moslems fight with people with whose faces will look like the shields with coated with leather .they will wear uniforms made of hair and they will wear shoes made of hair . (Saheih Moslem )

    • The Hour will not be established until you fight with people with small eyes, and with broad faces , their eyes will look like the eyes of locusts Their faces will look like shields coated with leather , they will have shoes made of hair they will have leather shield and will tie their horses into palm trees ( Al-Game Al-Sageer By Imam Sauity)

The Prophet said, "The Hour will not be established till you fight a nation wearing hairy shoes, and till you fight the Turks, who will have small eyes, red faces and flat noses; and their faces will be like flat shields. And you will find that the best people are those who hate responsibility of ruling most of all till they are chosen to be the rulers. And the people are of different natures: The best in the pre-lslamic period are the best in Islam. A time will come when any of you will love to see me rather than to have his family and property doubled." ( Al-Bokhary Book)

Errr... apocrypha, presumably from around the period the Turkic nomads began horning in on Muslim lands ? (The nomads of the northern "cold deserts" were hardly any concern to the Prophet himself, who passed away before the Muslims had even broken out of their southern desert strongholds, after all...)
I must say I don't quite get what you're asking here...

The intention is just as the person who probably forged it intended which was to rally Arabs against Turkish invasion through religious encouragement.

This is one of the OBVIOUS clues which show that many if not most hadiths are products of forgery which were concocted by Muslim rulers in the past for political purposes.

Similar hadith can also be found about Jews instead of Turks.

Well said, in my history of the Arabic Middle East course, this is the view in which our textbooks presents the subject.

Where do you attend school? Because very important stuff like this will never pass into school textbooks in Muslim countries.

I think these hadiths are forgery.
Unfortunately the majority of traditional muslims are either unaware or refuse to acknowledge the obvious signs of forgery behind many sickening hadiths and choose to follow them blindly.

This is the Jew version of the hadith:

Prophet said: "Judgment Day will come only when the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, until the Jew hides behind the tree and the stone, and the tree and the stone say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him'"
This hadith is both ridiculous and sickening. The insanity of Traditional Islam mostly originates from these sources.

Quoted for truth. It is generally in-advisable to rely on the Hadith to give you a real view of Islam, most were forgeries with solely political purposes. People played a sort of "simon says" game with them to influence guilliable masses of people. They are where a large number of negative ideas about Islam come from.

I think they're racist from appearances, and written just to influence whatever the current generation of muslims may have been. i.e., they are lies.

Racism as such didn't even exist back in the day (assuming my guess to the period of origin is right, natch) you know.

Nevermind now that of course Turks, Arabs, Berbers, Africans and everybody else in due narcissistic form viewed their particular ethnic characteristics as the best one, natch.

Marveling at the wonder of your own navel is probably a hardwired human behavioural trait...

Anyway, to repeat my earlier statement I'd guess these particular apocrypha would date to the period the Turkic nomads started becoming a serious problem to (what was left of) the Caliphate, naturally prompting a spate of hostile rhetoric to go with the fighting retreat. *shrug* Realpolitik. Tends to have an awful big role in such.

    Whatever.

You make light of something very serious which is responsible for many deaths, and will be also in the future.
