    Default I made the formatted_battle_models code but is it right?

    I made the formatted_battle_models for the Black root Vale archer but is it right? :

    Remember to count the number of characters in a line when you have edited it! There were 6 errors, in the name, model line and all the texture lines. Here's a corrected version. Dunno if i have counted all the new numbers correctly, haven't double checked it (as you should always do):

    Only one way, load up M2TW and see if it crashes!


    One thing I notice that may or may not be a problem is the lack of spaces after each line, and lack of two spaces after the zero right before the animation entry.


    Try copy-pasting this version if your current one doesn't work.

    The game won't load it justs said " Suffered a fatal error " So what do I do?" Here is the file

    Two possible suggestions. Add a space at the end of each line.

    Look at the vanilla entries above your own and see how they add spaces at the end of each line. I'm not sure if this is necessary, but maybe...


    You might also try changing the serialization number at the beginning of the MDB file from 701 to 702, though that might not do anything.



    Try making the normal texture sourced from the same lmail hmail folder instead of a separate section altogether.




    EDIT:
    Alright, I dumped your files into a pre-existing mod. I changed the soldier entry in EDU into Scots Guard (Keeping it Black_Root_Vale_Archers gives me an instant CTD). I added spaces after each line in the MBD.

    Game loads fine, battlefield loads fine, but this:




    Maybe it was a mistake to replace the soldier entry, but I constantly get an error if I do not. Maybe a more experienced modder here can see where my error is?

    Invisible soldiers come because the game cannot find the textures located here:
    unit_models/_Units/LN_Lmail_Hmail/textures/black_root_vale_archers.texture

    check that this is indeed the path to the texture (check for typos etc.)

    Is the zipped file you gave us the entire mod folder? Or just the relevant files?

    Edit:

    Well, you need more than that for a mod folder. The game won't load without a bare minimum of essential files and folders in your mod folder.

    If that's your mod folder, it's not gonna work from the start, you'll need to copy the bare essentials from the original data folder.

    Also, you get the "unlocalised placement text" becuase you havent added unit descriptions etc. This is also why the unit card looks like a peasant from RTW. To rectify this, copy the unit card that you want to have from a faction from data/ui/units and paste into your faction. Also, do the same with data/ui/unit_info. I know this isnt explained very well, but basically what you have to do is copy from another faction to your faction the unit info and the unit card, and then rename them black root vale archers. Hope this helps!

    Well, copy and paste your entries into the existing files. Replacing the whole file would be a bad idea.
