Has anyone noticed that the AI seems incapable of taking a city with crusades? I don't think I have ever seen a successful crusade by the AI.
In my current game as Armenia there is a crusade against Cordova which is controlled by Al-Muwahhidun. In the little area that I can see, the Christians have not won a battle yet, and there seem to be ever more Almoravid stacks generated. What I think is happening is that by the time the Crusading stack reaches the city and starts a siege, it is not powerful enough to take the city due to the garrison spawned. The created units are proliferating rapidly and this seems counterintuitive that being crusaded against would make a faction more powerful...
I really can't see what is going on in the empire because all I can see is the little bubble around Cordova. Also when I checked the military graph, the numbers of the Almoravids are going down in total, but around Codova they seem to be increasing.
I don't know how it would affect the overall balance of the game, and I like the garrison script as a way to prevent a couple of factions from growing too rapidly, but it would be nice to see a successful crusade, as it is a large (imo) part of the game.
My suggestion is this: If possible modify the script so that when a siege fails, some or all of the spawned garrison disbands. This also makes logical sense, because if they only took up arms in an emergency, you would expect them to return to their lives after it's over, not suddenly go on a military campaign :hmmm:.
Thoughts?
