    Default Norway campaign, money.

    What the...?

After a few turns I run out of money because of the insane amount needed to pay for trained soldiers. I mean, I start by building a few roads and no new soldiers and I already got more cost than income.

How the hell do I play this campaign? I never had this problem in medieval II.

You have to blitz. Either attack the Scots asap or sail around the British isles and attack Ireland. Once you have you have either Scotland or Ireland you can build up an economic base and start conquering the world.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

You can do it without blitzing. You just need to take a rather sizable army and go raiding along the coasts of the British Isles. Simply disembark, besiege a settlement, build plenty of ladders (you should have mostly infantry), attack the next turn, sack, sail away. This will give you the cash you need.

In fact in my campaign, in the first couple turns I sacked Dublin, and the huge cash grab it gave largely funded most of my early campaign. Also, besides garrisons (which should be entirely free upkeep militia, even in castles) you really only need one field army in the mainland.

And no I didn't blitz Scotland. I took their last settlement well after the Gunpowder event (which is a bit quick, but farm from blitzing).

Don't blitz, you'll want to have the fun of fighting a decently strong Scotland as your first major enemy.

Yep, i didn't blitz either. I took all of Scandinavia (I didn't even bother with the UK) I had good farms, and good trade wih England/Scotland/Russia etc The only problem was the war with Denmark but once the Danish war ended, i was rolling in it!

    Hey there.

Sorry for being dense here, but you played against Russia and the Danes in the Norway campagn of Kingdoms? I thought it was limited to the British Isles?

    I'm a bit confused:hmmm:

I just started yesterday and ransacked Dublin on the 2nd turn for a sizeable loot. Continued to play cat and mouse with Scotland as they besieged my puny, pointless settlements and I raided their largest settlements; which basically cripples their economy...leading to the beginning of the end for them. Although I'm still waiting for Mr. Wallace to arrive.

I also have a smaller army sailing around the Irish shores and taking opportunities whenever I can....

    Raiding is much more fun!

Raiding is 100% the way to go, atleast in the early game.

Oh and be careful when Wallace does show up. I managed to kill him in our first encounter (he's on foot...pffft...one cavalry charge and the sucker's gone), but his army is quite hefty. My victory was Pyrhhic to the max.

sack the settlements and if you don't plan on holding the cities destroy all the building for extra cash.

Must be a mod. No Scotland/England in Teutonic campaign.
