    Default Killing any family member

I believe I just stumbled onto an easy way to get rid of those unwanted family members (not that I have any, reference my other thread for further detail). I did the view settlement script without taking my general out of the city, and well, it killed him. Had to use the old autosave on that one...

I believe that you could probably kill any family member in this manner if you wanted as they always die when they lose a seige battle and this is the same thing. If this is already known then disregard this post, but I thought it was an interesting and potentially useful tool. Just think of it as roleplaying as the heir and staging a plot to murder the king!

How can I view settlements in MTW2?

It is a sub script of DLV and I believe it goes like this:
    Select the settlement construction menu
Click the "Locate settlement on campaign map" button which makes an advisor appear
Click the "show me how" button and it will load like a battle
Simply hit escape and Exit Battle to quit which counts as a lost battle on your campaign counter and apparently kills your family member so take him out before you use this

well if you have a general in the city just kill the capatult team and win the battle rather than exit the battle.

Thanks for the tip, Being able to kill them that way is much beter than fishing for pirates. Just wish ea put in for assins to kill family members

Yes it would be nice to select your heir like in the Rome TW days... But that's probably hardcoded by CA.

Thanks for the tip "city view" = death of character

Swiss Halberdier: It is hard coded by EA, just like assasins not being able to kill off their own family members - my reply was to Coin another classic MTW2 request in response to Alatar98's post. Things we all as MTW2 players wish for that were in MTW1 but are not in MTW2 and are ones that won't get added into the game by any mod as they are hard-coded.

Did the devs ever give a reason why they hard coded the faction heir bit? I'm honestly surprized they didn't fix it with Kingdoms seeing how most of the players were upset about it.

I think it was explained some time shortly after the release when they got hit by thousands requests to get it changed...
To be honest dont remeber if they said it was bugged or if they said that it was "unrealistic" hehe anyways I think it was their"Microsoft approach"
It is not hard coded guys - it is a feature ;-)
