MarcusTullius,what was the problem and how did you solve it?

I had a couple of mods on my system that broke RTW and BI....i just made a new mod folder with original RTW files and installed RM into that so it had its own place to work from

worked perfectly

(Playing as England now and have just wiped out Scotland from the map so i now hold all of the UK)

I downloaded the RM-2 Installer once it was i click the desktop shortcut and a message pops up sayin rome ex..is missing or desktopshort cut is missing and when i hit browse and find it the orginal rome loads up


what Must i Do:hmmm::hmmm::hmmm:


P.s do you have to patch 1.5 or can u use the orginal game

and if u dont have 1.5 can i still download it and apply it without haveing to start rm-2 installer over again

what you mean 1.5?
RTW 1.5 or RM 1.5 ?
you need RTW patched with patch 1.5,you dont need RM 1.5

i did the setup correctly everything was straight i click on the shortcut i see the sword then everything goes black then i get a box that says


Generic error Unable to read

data/battle_maps_lighting_and_fog_control.txt

this file is not from RM2 so the problem is not from RM2,its becasue your RTW is not clean or you did sth wrong in the installation,make sure you installed RM2 in the right place.(in your game directory)

hi, i really want this mod (since my comp. wont play MTW 2).
my problem is this, when i go to download the mod from any site, the computer recognizes it as a internet file, or a notepad file, which download instantly. when i open the internet file it opens the internet browser and says "page not found", when i open the notepad file, its blank.
bty, thats downloading part 1.
help and suggestions would be very much appreciated, thank you.

Hi,download this file :
http://files.filefront.com/RM2+betam.../fileinfo.html (its already in the Download thread).
after the download is finished,run the installer and install the mod in your game directory (Rome Total War).
Run Rome Medieval shortcut.

if you get the same problem (actualy i dont know the reason of the problem) try to download the mod (with RM Installer) in parts from here :
http://hosted.filefront.com/onmy6/
install all the five parts if you chose this way (parts),and run the installer/install the mod in the game directory.

try that and tell me,im waiting.

First i would like to say this is in fact the best mod ive ever play and it was an honer installing it free of charge

but however there is a few bugs and ctd's in this mod


i Keep on geting a runtime error and i dont no what the hell those are i mean ever snice ive installed rm-2 its been great smooth running for about a week


then all of a sudden i get hit with a

RUNTIME Error...

Any suggestions on what to do:hmmm::hmmm:

I just recently started playing Rome Total War and decided to download this mod. It had been running very well for about two days, but today when I started up the game and tried loading my saved game, the game has been crashing every time the loading completes. I've tried rebooting my PC several times but to no avail. Any suggestions of what I could do to fix this?

Ok, even weirder. I started a new campaign with France. And everything was good till my faction leader died and it said I lost the game (I had an heir and many family members). Then there was an error and the game quit.

i installed the game
clicked the icon on the desktop
the game started
but it wasn't the RM2 game
it was just RTW
nothing had changed

This may be because LotK has deleted the Victory/Defeat video's. Though this doesn't effect the whole game, right; start a new game?

You clicked the RM2 Icon?

Did you install RM into the Rome Total War folder?
E.G: C:/Program Files/ The Creative Assembly / Rome - Total War

Install it there. Check it out after installed and you will find a RM folder. If its there, double click on the RM Icon and it will run.

What model_unit will you base the unit with guns off of the cross bowman and will they have there own animations

this is where i installed the game

and yes the RM2 folder is in the RTW folder

i wont install the game to "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War
because i have barbarian invasion and Alexander installed there

when i first installed RTW i copied the game
and put it on an external hard drive so that i could have a clean copy for any mod

"C:\Documents and Settings\scipii\My Documents\My Games\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War
this is where i installed EB
and it worked ok

so other than installing it in another folder i think i did everything else correctly

went to target and noticed that it said
"%SystemDrive%\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:RomeMedievalMOD -nm -show_err
and thought maybe that was the problem
so i changed it to
"C:\Documents and Settings\scipii\My Documents\My Games\The Creative Assembly2\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -mod:RomeMedievalMOD -nm -show_err

the shortcut worked but it was just the RTW game again

Hi,its a known problem,you didnt install the Mod (RM2) in the right place,that's all,so reinstall RM2 in your RTW 1.5 folder (the game directory).

try that and tell me.

Hi,which version are you using right now? that bug was happening sometimes in RM 1.5 but not in RM2 until now!

if you are using RM 2 ,which campaign your are playing? try to start the campaign again,or try another campaign.

please remeber that the current version is still a beta,so your comments and feedbacks are welcome so we can solve all problems in RM.

are you using the latest RM2 Fix?

Runtime errors are related to your DirectX version and some Drivers,or coz of a new Driving system,and its maybe a verus.
its not about RM mod or RTW game.
did you try if RTW is still running?
