To be honest I'm not a 100 per cent sure. There have been three crusades that I've noticed and armies have been marching to and fro and I've lost track as to whether they're going to a new one or going home from the last.
I do know that there's an English army that's been hanging around near Sinope for the past 10 to 15 years. I'm still allied with them and they're doing no harm so I've let them alone. Who knows, I may be able to drag them in as a reinforcement to a battle sometime. Why let my boys get killed if I can con someone else to fight for me.
Great Screens. Gonna download this now that I'm Board with Broken Cres ^^.
Tony83, Your screenies look a little stretched.

Yeah, it's probably because I'm using a 22" wide screen monitor but, due to an old underspec machine, am having to use a less than ideal resolution/aspect ratio. I've tried higher and more correct settings but it creates so much lag in the game as to be unusable.
I'm getting a new PC this summer so I don't have to put up with it for much longer.
So I guess the armies floating around without the red cross banner are the "left-overs" from previous crusades. Ah well, they don't seem to be doing any harm and I'm allied with most of them.

I guess you might have problems with the BC campaign if you're not a fan of the Crusades and prefer fighting in Western Europe. While I'm not much fussed myself about the Crusades I really do like their ERE line up. It makes for a very satisfying battle experience.
However, I much prefer having the chance to kick the Bishop of Rome up the pants that the Grand campaign gives.
some miscellaneous screenies. I love your Georgian units.

Nice screens! I really do love those Monaspa units. They look fierce! Love all those pics of the Monaspa Bodyguards with their sabres over head, looking like they're saying "I will smite thee down in the name Georgia, fool!"
quick question regarding screeenshots, guys.
How to make them in jpg instead of tga (without resorting to fraps or other app) ? can it be done?
tga's take a lot of space, jpg's or at least bmp's would be nice! sure I can convert later but would prefer just to shoot jpg at 80%..

I've been using Irfanview to batch convert the .tgas to .jpegs. But King Yngvar suggested using FRAPS as that allows you to take screens directly in .jpeg format. No need to convert.
EDIT - I haven't actually used FRAPS yet. Haven't had much time to play this weekend. Had to bring actual r/l work home with me
EDIT - without FRAPS? Ah, that's what happens when you haven't had your morning coffee yet....

OK, thanks!
I think I'll be just converting the ones I need in FastStone MaxView (which is even cooler than irfan!) its just the matter of 'save as'.
Nice pics Social what battle Resolutions do you use?
I just had to show off my mighty Fatimid Empire, 1164 AD!
The Seljuks are pushed into the mountains, fighting me in the south, and Georgia and Novgorod in the north.
The Armenians are fighting the Turks.
The Turks have lost all their regions but Nicaea.
The Byzantine are struggling, but holding on and gaining regions.
Novgorod has taken eastern Georgia, and lost it again to rebels.
Georgia is fighting back, gaining regions in the east.
Fantastic campaign.

some shots of a 16,000 plus battle between the islamic army and the georgian/armenian alliance.
I am using the Crimson Tide mod from stainless steel. It seems to work fine with pder. All I used was the overlaytextures folder from crimson tide pasted over the current overlaytextures folder
islamic army charging towards the georgian line
cavalry trying to push them down the mountain
cavalry retreats as the islamic army moves forward
watching the approaching doom
holding the line
cavalry attacking on the flanks
many dead
many more still on the field
the georgian inf charges forward
mass slaughter
surviived the day

I think the GIF format might appear "crisper" because it has less colour variation and "simplifies" the picture, when compared with JPG's. Does the -movie_cam switch work with Med II? I've used it to extract screenshots from custom battle replays from Rome with good results.
