Default "Offends Nobility" -- not same old question

I've played long enough that I know how that trait works -- however, I had a king, crowned and at the seat of power and he offended the nobility and it all fell apart from there. Ouch.

I don't actually have a problem with that, hell, if I were king I'd sure as hell wear the crown, be in my capital and definitely offend most of my people, let alone the nobility -- after all, it's good to be the king.

I'm just checking to see that this is not an error -- and just a bad break for me and my royal line.

Finally, is there a way to shake the trait given the scenario I've presented? Just get the king killed? Wait, maybe it's not so good to be the king!

I had a king fall beyond "Offends the nobility" to "Inspires civil war" as HRE. I then fought a battle with him and he won and gained +1 authority for a total of 1 authority and he we back to just "Offends the nobility." My guess is that if you can get the king to grow into a leader suitable for the throne then he will lose the trait altogether. Just my guess though.

Interesting point that I forgot to mention. He is a "man of the hour" general and he is supposedly in regent status and the Heir has now reached manhood -- I'd have to go back and check, but it is quite possible that this entire episode was triggered by the heir coming of age --

Is that somehow scripted in? If so, that is OUTSTANDING -- seems extremely plausible -- after all, who wants to give up the throne!

I'll try that Ardri -- good advice!
