    Default What about recruitable governors?

I was just thinking about generals when I had this idea:

"What about recruitable governors for each nation?"

Units which are predestined to govern a city. With some skills / traits that boost economy, trade and so on...
Only produceable in a large city with academy and / or some religious buildings. Expensive in the aquisition and some mid-level upkeep.

In battle they are on foot with a few special bodyguards consisting from the best units available in the nation. Such as swordsmen or something like that.

And they can only admin cities --> large disadvantages when they admin castles.
And they don't come in the family tree!!!!!

    Is this moddable....

This is something we intend to pursue in the future. Basically we'll draw a line between the native sons born of the family and the characters that are either adopted or recruited. From that point we'll allow you to be able to "train" your generals to be governors or generals similar to how EB has it set up.

    Correct thinking!!!!
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

Roma Surrectum has this, it would be an excellent addition to BC.

I really like this idea. It would be cool to have elephant and Ghulam recruitable generals. I've been playing the Caliphate recently and it would be sweet to get Ghulam generals. Same with the Rajputs and their elephants. Also, it would be cool to 'train' generals/family members to be either mainly a general or govenor. Maybe if you put him in a castle for a few turns he becomes a general and if in a city he becomes a govenor? (add a line of traits that give respective bonuses).

Ghazni at least has recruitable generals, Palace Guard Ghulams in the highest tier slave trade building. Oh, and I've been longing for a Daylami Tribal Chief on foot ever since I first saw the Daylami Heavy Infantry.

Excellent idea! BC 1.1 and 2.0 are looking brighter and brighter. I just have one request: Please don't make the mistake that Roma Surrectum did in that the recruitable generals and governors respectively had generic portraits, so that a general was impossible to tell apart from a governor. This was important in RS since the governor was a small foot soldier unit while the general was a mounted elite unit.

very nice idea!!! governors on foot with, maybe, 20 elite swordsmen as bodyguards!!!! And different portraits between governors and generals...great!
30BC: Ottaviano Augusto becomes the first Imperator, in his 44 years of principate he will bring to the empire peace and prosperity!
70AD: Vespasiano is the winner of first great empire's civil war, rebuilding Roman world after the Nero's dark ages.
98AD: Traiano becomes imperator after that the senateman Nerva adopted him,he will start a gold age for the empire getting it to biggest extension!! 117AD-180AD Adriano,Antonino Pio and Marco Aurelio administrate the empire during his richest and most pacific period, with their good administration Rome lives its golden age.
193AD: Settimio Severo wins the civil war started after the death of Commodo starting the Severan dinasty, his heirs will not be as good as him. 252-285AD Rome lives the peak of III century's crisis, onli the emperor Aureliano will be able to reunite the empire breacked in 3 parts and the great reformer Diocleziano will give to Rome militar, politic and social cohesion after decades of caos. 325AD:Costantino rules alone over the empire and christianity is for the first time accepted by the imperial government.

That'd be cool. How about let the governors become some kind of agent ( like spy, merchant, diplomat,...) They can be recruited from a certain sepecified building at highest level city and only in the capital.

Is it possible to add recruitable grand masters for the various holy orders like Templars and Hospitallars?

You mean like Templar/Hospitaller generals for the KoJ? Yes, it is. And I wish to do that for sure in the future.
