Total Newbie Question

Hey all, just picked up MTW2 and like it a lot so far, but I have one dumb question. During a battle giving orders to my troops why can I not see a overlay/preview of how the unit will be poistioned after movement is complete, like in all the previous total war games. My units just seem to face the way I clicked, makes for very slow and tedious unit positioning.

It's probably something obvious im missing but i had to ask.

hold the button to choose where they go (right click) and drag the mouse around, it should bring up little arrows pointing towards where they will face and you can shorten or thicken the lines of your troops and choose their direction easily, works with any units you have highlighted

Also, with the unit selected, hold down the shift key to see where the unit is heading (indicated by a red "point") on the map. Or hold down the spacebar to see exactly how each individual soldier in that unit will line up.

Well then, i think i need to patch my game because it will not work for me. I even loaded up RTW and MTW1 to check and they work fine, i'm not sure why this refuses to work. (makes strategic battles very hard when units wont face the right way, lol)

so, are the basic controls the same as in Rome?

Well finally got it figured, just had to reinstall the game TWICE to get it to work, little bit annoying but at least its working now.

Once you have sent one or more units on the move press space and you can see where they will stop and which way they are facing
