I liked Theme Hospital a lot but ever since I have not really found any good similar sim games.
I tried Capitalism II but unlucky me it does not support 1280x1024 resolution.
Currently Im learning to play Transport Giant.

Transport Tycoon an old but good game![]()
A lot of the reviews I've read knocked Capitalism II but for some reason I quite liked the game. It wasn't perfect by any means but it had a certain appeal to a talented young student who was taking a Business Studies diploma at the time.
I can't think of to many recent games that of any note, Transport Tycoon and Tycoon: New York are the only ones that spring to mind. I would avoid Sim City 4, some people love it but being a fan of the original game and its sequel it just doesn't capture the magic.
Total War games
definetely try it!!
not only do you command armies, but you also control the economy of your country
just like they said, 3 things are needed in war, money, money and yet more money
theres this wicked cool Merchant chracter
you can trade in with other factions

and stuff like that, I absolutely recommend it! try Medieval II Total War!

Right, yeah how about reading the first post properly, eh? When did the Total War series became an Business Strategy games in the first place? Sure economy is a feature in the TW, but making money is something extremely easy in the TW, and that's what is all about making money. There is no economy in TW games, because there is no demand of anything in TW games. No one (nation/tribe) in TW games has any kind of control over trade of goods or recourses at all.
Capitalism II
Is without a doubt best economy simulator I've played so far. Quite educational as a matter in fact, and IMO easy game to approach.
I suggest also to try out the Railroad Tycoon 3 too. It has an interesting "simulation" of stock market, fun game. Stock market is interesting, though it's not real simulator, but a working one and fun. Sure somewhat close to the real stock market behavior, but not real at all. Misses completely factors in the market like, growing habit of using cars instead of trains, or effect of the air traffic.
Waiting for that Global market game. With non renewable energy recourses and real global demand of "a product". Game where you have to predict the future or at leas able to read what is going on in the "case" industry, and how is that going to effect on with whatever you play.

"The United States of Space, coz I ain’t stopping at the Moon. Write this down, M… A… R… S… MARS *****es. That’s where we are going, Mars, red rocks!"
I heard Victoria, the paradox game, lets you get quite involved in your economy. Of course it's not only a business sim, it's also a strategy sim, but I have heard the economy is deep and complicated.
Transport Tycoon Deluxe can be downloaded for free, just put it in a search engine. SimCity 2000 is an excellent game too, but I agree with Freddie about the later SimCities. 4 and 3000 couldn't capture the greatness of 2000. RollerCoaster Tycoon is pretty fun if you're into that stuff, but 2 is more of a challenge for those who enjoy business and management.
If you fancy having a go at different time periods I recommend Pharaoh, Children of the Nile, any of the Ceaser games, and Masters of Olympus: Zeus.

Can someone tell me how to play Capitalism II on 1280x1024 resolution?

Open Transport Tycoon is absolutely awesome. Open source, with tons of mods and in continuous development: http://www.openttd.org/
The only problem is that you can't even get "1 more turn" syndrome, as there are no turns, just continuous, non-stop play. Prepare to lose sleep, and maybe work.
It does have quite a steep learning curve though, and it took me a quite a while to get into it, but once I "got" it, I just clicked and was hooked.
Locomotion
Its just Transportation Tycoon except native to Windows XP. Pretty much the same game except missing certain things from TT deluxe.

Railroad Tycoon 2 for sure in my mind the A.I was fantastic and the stockmarket was suprisingly deep I remeber this time where I lost because I brought my own stock on margin because my company was booming and having stocksplits every month but then my opponent dumped all his stock onto the market my share price crashed I had to sell a large amount of my stock which my opponent brought up got a controlling share in my company and did a hostile tackover so that was the one time I haved been outwitted by an A.I

Basically transport tycoon deluxe with a whole lot of trains, bigger airports, better delivery system etc.
I find railroad tycoon 2 thoroughly enjoyable, even though it is now ancient...

Anyone remember SimTower?
Life, go easy on me
for more from the wonderful world of Humber Reloaded, just google it!Then I weighed him I said, “Holy ****!” because he weighs 900,000,000,000,000,000 tons. That amazing weight made me say the “S” word.

yep. But i found out once you start doing big things with airports like 3 cities connected to an airport with trains and buses (unload and wait for transfer) you get soo much money it gets boring...

As for Theme Hospital, it was a great game, probaly the best of its type.
As for Sim City, they are fun...but only if you cheat. I am rubbish at them otherwise.
