    Default NAT Navigation problems

For awhile now my friend and I have been trying to play multiplayer battles on RTW, MTW II, and on both LAN, and internet. Whenever we try we get error messages like NAT navigation failure, or no response from host and ect. We have tried turning off firewalls and security devices, but it dosent seem to work. We have also tried relogging and retyring to join the games, but to no use. Another thing is that he cannot connect to any multiplayer game, and noone can connect to his games, wheras I can connect with other people online normally. If anyone can help me with this problem Id greatly appreciate it.

You say you turned off your firewalls, but are you connecting through a home network behind a router?

I dont entirely understand what you mean, but we have been trying to connect through the internet from separate networks, and even through the same network. We have also tried to connect through LAN.

Ok so you are using the same ISP which is fine, but are you behind a router? Do you have multiple computers connecting to a firewall device before your modem? I assume your friend has the router because you say you've tried connecting via LAN and he is having problems hosting. Correct?

Really we need more details, specifics like what firewalls/devices your talking about, are the errors all NAT? What versions of Medieval you are playing and what are your connections i.e cable, dsl, dial up?

Yes, we are behind routers, and I cannot join the games he hosts, ad he cannot join the games I host, however I can join other peoples games and host myself he cant do either. Weve turned off all firewalls when weve tried so I think it might be a security device on the router? Ive tried connecting with him online through a wireless network and I believe he has cable but none of that has worked. Also whenever we tried on LAN through the same network that never worked. As for devices ill have to figure out what hes using and post back here.
I found a site about routers that me be able to help us set up his router so he will be able to play. Ill have to wait and see how it works.

Then by what you have told me here I would suspect that your friend has the problem with his or her router. Try having them configure port triggering and define the port as M2 with the incoming and outgoing port fields set to: 27750

I think that is what we are going to try to do. By the way thanks for all the help.
