    Default Settings

    To anyone,

soem really dumb questions that I dont know where to post.. I have modded files.. but still dont know so basic video settings for this game...

Thought this would be the best place to posts.

What is anistrophic filtering (spelling??) and what is anti- aliasing? what function of how does this equate to what you see in the game? Like how does higher anti- aliasing look in the game?

    I feel dumb..

Ok, basically anti-aliasing helps make sure that jaggy edges in the game are smoothed, making it look smoother. This increases in quality as the level increases.
    See here:

Anisotropic filtering (as far as I understand) performs a function that is meant to maintain clarity of surface textures as they are veiwed at poorer angles (ie closer to 0 than 90 degrees).
    See here:

Both of these process require a lot of processing power.

Maybe someone else can explain it in laymen's terms a little better?

Just to a add to quagga's point on anti-aliasing, it smoothens the jaggy edges and makes the graphics look better because of this but only use it a lot if you have a powerful computer otherwise it may be quite slow during gameplay.
