It adds some historical stuf but I would say it is more of a role playing mod. Though there is more hirtorical acuracy than vanila.

Re: Is this a historical accuracy mod?
You kind of need to write you own views first rather then topic - thats pretty much the basis of forming any itelligent discussions.
But, still, to put forward my views -
DLV is not a mod striving to have total historical accuracy like those modding Rome Total Realism, i belive they realise yo ucan only ahve a certain amount of realism in the game before it stops beocmming fun. The way the DLVelopers are working is to create a game that is more historically accuracte but also fun to play, by having traits, ancilelries etc, the DLV team are encouraging you to remain as close to history as YOU WANT, they have put things in place that enables you to stay pretty close to history if you choose too however they have also provisioned for those who may find the historical aspects of the medieval period as rather dull to simulate.
So yes and no -
DLV is a mod that is not historically accurate but it is a mod that is based upon history rather then the dodgy books the CA teams must have read whilst making the Vanilla version.

Re: Is this a historical accuracy mod?
Definately not a historically accurate campaign.
An effort is made to ensure factions are represented well, but 'realism' is an angle that isnt really neccessary or inherent in DLV I feel.
I'm trying to add 'more realistic' characters and geography to 5.3 one faction at a time, but its still fantasy and will always be a game first and a history lesson second.
But thats just me.
Its more fun than vanilla, more challenging than any other mod and good for roleplaying.

It's modded for it's fun quota - any resemblance to history is relaxed in respect to better gameplay. It's just a game - no need to break ones balls over getting everything accurate. We'd never manage to do that so it's fun fun fun 'til daddy takes the DLV-bird away!

I usally change the strat everytime I reinstall the game to make the family trees more in line with history. It's definitally not easy, it's a very very slow process and usally takes me about 2 weeks. By that point I just don't feel like playing anymore so I've given up doing that LOL.
