Default Yo, Spielberg needed for a minute. Charge bug on tape.

    Howdy.
I'm tired of hearing people talk "wooo I have no idea what bugs you're talking about, this game is so cool, it has no bugs, it's made just as well as the best strategies out there, screw you" crap.
So when I played a test battle to check the effectiveness of Schiltrom against a cavalry charge, guess what popped up - Cavy charge bug.
It was a custom battle so I couldn't resist and saved the replay.

Download and play it if you wish to see how
    - 15 cavalrymen on the front kill 20 out of 150 spearmen with their charge, while
    - 2 of their friends in the second line kill half of the rest, thanks to the bug.

Start the battle, zoom in on the cavalry formation and carefully follow these two cavalrymen:

Particularly check the guy closer to the banner, additionally marked with a red box.
Play the file a few times and you will see the full picture of this foul bug.
    Don't worry, it's very short.

    Here is the replay:

    Now my kind request:
If someone could do me a favor and use the Cin-ed to make a nice, convincing little movie showing these two knights bug the spearmen into shreds, I would be very, +repfully grateful
(for instance by making the camera follow one of the knights and show specifically what he does). It shouldn't be too much work as the whole important scene lasts no longer than 10 seconds.

    Thanks in advance.

And for all the "wow I've never seen that, how did you haxx it?" dudes I say - it happens a lot, just stop autoresolving and take a look on your and enemy cavalries.

    ---------------------------------------
    Important

I created this thread because I'm looking for someone for whom the Cin-ed works (I'm trying everything but it won't cooperate and I don't have too much time to mess with it ;s) and who could make a movie I need.
All I need is the moment of mass-destruction lances cutting down more men at once than Rambo could hope to manage, caught on a short 15-second movie and thrown on youtube.
    For my sheer satisfaction >;].

Replays don't work right, the battle will be slightly different each time you watch it. It only takes the orders into account, not each individual action.

Actually every time I play it, it plays the same. Even when I uploaded and downloaded the file and played it again. And the last red-boxed bugged cavalryman kills 8 spearmen but simply turning 45 degrees to the right, every fight.

Hmm. Maybe I'm wrong. My custom battle replays didn't play out the same each time though, lol.

Are the actions of each man shown in a battle the precise rendition of what the computer is calculating for battle casualties? I have been thinking that they must be just some sort of general approximation because of the wierd stuff that I often see, such as seeing a pursuing cavalryman just fall over dead when he wasn't very close to the fleeing spearman (No archers were firing. Did his horse step into a prairie dog hole?).

I believe calculations and rolls and random stuff happens only when one man fights with another and they only affect the evolution and result of their particular struggle. I don't think "general calculations" exist.

And no, I don't have too much time.
I'm just very very VERY deep in my personal Crusade against every piece of dishonest programming in this game.

Yep, general calculation don't exist. It's based on the fights between individual units (and their animations). If there were general calculations dismounted gothic knights and the such would tear trough low level infantry with ease, but instead they take a long time because a peasant is poking them with a pitchfork. The actual determination of wether a strike will be blocked or it will hurt/kill the target are chance rolls though.

    Old Geezer:
I haven't seen that in Medieval 2 yet, but that might explain why my general was the only casualty in a massive cavalry charge I did. In Rome I've had a general trip about 50 metres in front of an enemy peasant unit (I attacked a rebel army with this single peasant unit with my general to give him some combat experience).
