Default The funniest moment in RTW!

Look, its another one! Mine was: I had just captured the Greek's last city, and they had two armies in the field that went rebel afterwards. The first one's name was "Brigands" but the other army, which WAS their faction heir's name was: Lesbian Rebels!!! It would have only been funnier only if they were Germanic Screeching Women!!! Or (in BI) Virgin Archers/Virgin HAs/Virgin Lancers!!!
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

Yeah, I got one. Interestingly enough...

But it was on my phone. And my memory cartridge sucks. So I tried to take another one just now. And I have BI installed. Now I can't play my Vanilla saves.

Wow, was there a reason the island was called lesbos, or better yet, was there a reason we use the term lesbian in the context we do today because of the island?

The Island of Lesbos was a study centre for several poets, notably poetess SAPPHO who is said to have expressed the qualities of homosexual love between women and thus the term "Lesbian" came about refering to the island where female homosexual love is promoted..in poetry...or to that effect. Hmmm Wiki is:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesbos_Island

The rebels would be "Lesbian Rebels" refering to the island only..but yeah it would be cool if they were Amazon warriors-Chariots or the Scythians etc.

The term lesbian comes from the Island Lesbos, off the coast of Anatolia. Jsut to clear things up, Lesbos came first, the term lesbian after. (I believe the term originated there because a notable poet from that island was a lesbian and wrote many poems about that topic).

    (excerpted from the wiki

Sappho (Attic Greek Σαπφώ [sapːʰɔː], Aeolic Greek Ψάπφω [psapːʰɔː]) was an Ancient Greek lyric poet, born on the island of Lesbos. In history and poetry texts, she is sometimes associated with the city of Mytilene on Lesbos (Carson 2002); she was also said to have been born in Eresos, another city on Lesbos. Her birth was sometime between 630 BC and 612 BC, and it is said that she died around 570 BC. The bulk of her poetry, which was well-known and greatly admired throughout antiquity, has been lost, but her immense reputation has endured through surviving fragments.

Sappho's poetry centers around passion and love for various personages and genders. The word "lesbian" derives from the name of the island of her birth, Lesbos; her name is also the origin of its less common synonym sapphic. The narrators of many of her poems speak of infatuations and love (sometimes requited, sometimes not) for various women, but descriptions of physical acts between women are few and subject to debate. Whether these poems are meant to be autobiographical is not known, although elements of other parts of Sappho's life do make appearances in her work, and it would be compatible with her style to have these intimate encounters expressed poetically, as well. Her homoerotica should be placed in the seventh century (BC) context. The poems of Alcaeus and later Pindar record similar romantic bonds between the members of a given circle.[22]

Sappho's contemporary Alcaeus described her thus: "Violet-haired, pure, honey-smiling Sappho" (ἰόπλοκ᾽ ἄγνα μελλιχόμειδε Σάπφοι, fr. 384). The 3rd Century philosopher Maximus of Tyre wrote that Sappho was "small and dark" and that her relationships to her female friends were similar to those of Socrates:

What else was the love of the Lesbian woman except Socrates' art of love? For they seem to me to have practised love each in their own way, she that of women, he that of men. For they say that both loved many and were captivated by all things beautiful. What Alcibiades and Charmides and Phaedrus were to him, Gyrinna and Atthis and Anactoria were to the Lesbian.

I failed a screen shot, but Carthage attacks me(gaul) using 2 siege towers to attack my side walls, one guarded by war elephants in front as they moved. My gaul archers use fire on them and they run amok killing the 1st crew and causing the second tower to ram into the first and stop. Then they crush the poor second crew and they run away leaving the towers stuck and shot at by my Towers. One catches fire and fall apart and some cathage troops rally and push the 1st Tower only to be blown apart by the towers..,but worse as they had an Onanger which just sat there and ram which did nothing, until I sallied forth and killed all the remainders. The screen shots of the elephants sending the troops flying was cool. Pity I was not sure how to set it up to show.

O and when I attacked rome with 5 (or maybe 6) full stacks of warband and barb cav + Generals, unfortantly I could not play on the map with that many troops (my mates computer was a bit old), and lost!!!! rome had only like 3/4 stack, what the hell!!! Why!!!! Why!!!! I took like 9000 losses...

I was Macedon and I attacked the last Armenian town with about 600 soldiers most of them were militia hoplites two units of light lancers and general.Armenians had three armoured generals-leader,heir and family member and about 1500 soldiers-eastern infantry. It was impossible mission to capture the town.I besieged the town and Armenians in the next turn tried to destroy army and attacked me.So the battle began and my general and light lancers routed two units of eastern infantry while enemy's generals were routing my militia hoplites-all my infantry units. Then eastern infantry I routed, started to flee through the gates.I was chasing them with my cavalry and captured the gate. After fist gate I captured all four gates killing remaining enemy infantry in town and capturing the town with 17 soldiers alive while enemy had about 1200 soldiers alive outside the town and 3 generals. But I won the battle.

    That is hilarious, mikoli.
