    Default Bysantian gununits

    Hi

one thing that annoyed me with vanilla medieval, was that the bysantines didnt get any good gunpowder-units even if you were the dominant power. I mean the reason the bysantines didnt build gunpowder-units back in the 1300 was because the were far too poor, right? and therefor it should be possible in game therms to build gunpowder units if you are wealthy enough? i realise this would be difficult to mod into the game but perhaps it could be possible to mod in some very very expensive mercenaries which would use gunpowder-weapons, they would of course only come late in the game and as I said they would be very expensive.

I never actually played the bysantines this far in Deus Lo Vult so I have to appologize if this is already "dealt" with in this mod.

As far as I am aware they still dont get them. A good work around for this would be to fiddle with the files and make them 'more' available as mercenaries in Anatolia..

You could also double or tripple the upkeep costs, representing the fact specialist powder, shot and wadding have to be imported from the meditarranean.

I'm working on a little mod that introduces mercenary 'companies'. If you hire them all at the same time you get a NE bodyguard unit and a general character to lead them.
