    Default Have pre-battle speeches been cut short in 5.3?

    I was just wondering, because my generals don't rant about arse weasels anymore ..

    I get one line now if I am lucky?

    Its because the traits have been changed Soooo much that certain traits that triggered the pre battle sentences are now long gone.
    I think its possible to get some of them triggered by the new traits i just don;t think its been a priority of Repman's to do that.

    I need my arse weasels back too..... I'm sure they will be back some day....After the team gets through doing all kinds of other awesome things...

    change your cfg file

    Thats the thing: I have speech_enable = 1 in DLV_ext.cfg?

    Still only get one line speech - usually the 'lets get them' ending for a main verbose speech ..

    I was hoping to get some colourful speeches from William Marshal ..

    I noticed this in standard Kingdoms play. I can't be sure on this but it might just be a bug in Kingdoms, I thought I saw some on say that on this site some where too.

    Go to C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\DLV_ext\data
    Open descr_sounds_dlb
    delete the faction you are playing under the oneliners, save and exit
    Go to C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\DLV_ext\data\sounds
    and delete event.dat, event.idx

    Start up the game and u will have long pre-speeches back

    Hmm... oddly enough, event.dat and event.idx don't appear. I don't think I have those files, but I applied the other fix, and I still have short speeches. Any ideas? I ran a search within the DLV_ext folder, but it returns nothing matching those file names.

    Bumped this cause it's a really great fix if you want long speeches. Just remember that KOJ is labeled ELO in the files if you are playing Kingdom of Jerusalem
