Who's seen it? I think the movie is pretty boring with the Orlando heavy scenes. But the fighting is awsome (see all the stuff on MTW2 for real) and scenes with Saladin is cool as well.

I've seen it. Some of the scenes are pretty cool, like the battles. Tiberius (aka Raymond III of Tripoli) is cool. King Baldwin is a badass. Saladin is awesome, Nasir is cool. Balian is gay.![]()
I agree. Orlando Bloom was a big, big casting mistake. I really don't understand it. Didn't Ridley Scott realize sometime during filming that something wasn't quite right?
At the very least, they could've tried to stick a bit more with the historical Balian of Ibelin. And even if they didn't and still proceded with this storyline, they should've at least gone with an older actor with experience for the main character.. I mean, I thought Edward Norton (King Baldwin!) Liam Neeson, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson and Ghassan Massoud were all amazing, but whenever Orlando Bloom popped up I couldn't help but sigh..
The other actors really outclassed Bloom and that shows very clearly on screen, which is a shame..
I usually went to the toilet or get some snacks to eat when it's mainly Orlandon the screen![]()
I associate Bloom with like...a gay wimpy elf. not exactly the Hero type. The movie itself was great. I loved the diseased King of Jerusalem and Salahadin. Epic battle scenes. Lovely. Not to mention the fact that I agree with everything they say about religion.
Ya, King Balwin is pretty cool in the movie, same as Saladin.
I want a movie that's all battle, no bull.

Darfur...Kenya...
I don't think there is "battle" in Kenya now (riot is far from actual hostile action), same as Darfur (skirmish all day, but no one dare to fight when UN is there, Arab just dare to starve Black African).
Congo is completely different story, more than ten gureilla groups + Congo Army + UN Peacekeepers + Rwanda Miltary + many local militia + mercenaries + National Park rangers (don't ask me why they fight, perhaps for protecting gorillas). People may care about Darfur, but few people even heard the Great African War which ended few years ago and produce no result (not to mention 3 million civilians casualty + massive rape + blood diamond).
In fact, one month ago Congo Army, under UN support, just launched a massive campaign against one group of tutsi gureilla group, and shamefully pushed back by gureillas.
