I have finally repaired my computer and recovered from the ill. Now I’m back in modding. Before I make landscape for Russian territory I would like to have this part of map valued. I hope Tchouk will help me in here.

I gave each Russian faction same number of province – 6. But this is not obligatory, if you feel that in the starting date (circa 1186) their boarders were much different from those I proposed and they were not equally strong, I may change this. I do not aim in situation where every faction represents the same level of difficulty- in the contrary – I would like to differ them so they would be suitable for players of different TW experience.

I’m opened to any suggestions. I reached the 199 limit, so no more provinces may be added, but some might be moved. So if you think that some regions of Rus is overcrowded while others underestimated, that we can make some switching. Below I state a list of province for each Russian faction plus highly related with them Volga-Bulgarians, Lithuanians and Cumans.

    Novgorod:
    1. Novgorod (capital) - large city
    2. Ladoga - large town
    3. Koporje - wooden castle
    4. Staraja Russa - large town
    5. Toropiec - wooden castle
    6. Baleozoro - town

    Vladymir:
    1. Vladymir (capital) - city
    2. Rostov - city
    3. Kostroma - large town
    4. Vologda - wooden castle
    5. Galych - town
    6. Moscow - wooden castle

    Kiev
    1. Kiev (capital) - large city
    2. Zhytomir - town
    3. Owrucz - large town
    4. Kremenec - wooden castle
    5. Vinnitsa - town
    6. Zvienigorodka - wooden castle

    Volga-Bulgaria
    1. Great Bulgar - large city
    2. Kazan - large town
    3. Bilar - city
    4. Moran - city
    5. Bortas - wooden castle

    Cumans
    1. Saraj Batu (capital?) - large city
    2. Sarkel - wooden castle
    3. Ukak - town
    4. Woronez - town
    5. Sharukan - town
    6. Sugrov - town
    7. Sicz - wooden castle
    8. Azov - large town
    9. Oleszje - wooden castle
    10. Oczakow - town
    11. Kilia - large town

    Lithuania
    1. Vilnius (capital) - town
    2. Kowno - town
    3. Szawle - wooden castle

    Hey Silesian_Noble,

I don't know if you saw this in the Rusichi thread:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...73#post4446373

If you haven't already, I think you should share your research with those guys. I'd love to see them make some Polish units that you would be able to use for your mod as well.

Will the kingdom of Bosnia be included in this MOD?

If Tsardoms is released and they agree to share their Bosnia, then I think Bosnia may appear at certain era.

I'm familiar with Rusichi thread as long as it has existed. I have already talked with Tchouk about making some Polish units by skilled Rusichi Rolan. Unfortunately Poland is not their priority so there is no chance for Rusichi units of Poland in nearest future. I mean they would love to make some, but they have got plenty of work which is far more important for Rusichi project.

From the other hand I have two guys interested in helping in developing of Polish units. I have spent last weekend for preparing reference material for them. Though I still hasn’t finished.

Understandable, but unfortunate I agree. Hopefully sometime in the future they’ll be able to get around to it. It couldn't hurt to send them some reference material that they can use whenever. They're obviously amiable to suggestions from the community and at one point asked for help with regard to researching Russia's neighboring regions.

In the mean time, I wish you success in your collaboration with the other two guys.

As far as my research goes, I would add Minsk and Hrodna to the Lithuanian grand-principality (or Lithuanian principalities, just how you want to see them).

And perhaps the principality of Halicz-Volhynsky? With Halych/Pzemysl/VolodimirVolhynsky/Brzesc/Pinsk and perhaps Turov? That was a principality that even stayed when the mongols came and went and around 1350 it became polish.

About Hrodna (Grodno) this is possible, though I would like to read something more specific - show me your source About Minsk - I don't think so. Lithuania absorbed it much later, circa half XIIIc.

They are on my current faction list, but they won't be in the first release. Pinsk and Turov formed separate duchy, so they wouldn't be in. Though I would size its territory with Czerniowce on the south. I think they should also be given Kremeniec, but I'm not sure wheter they were stronger in that period then Kiev (I know they were later during the time of Daniel reign) so the ballance of Kiev : Halych-Volynha should be better researched.

OK., here am I Some might forgot this project, but we are alive and progressing. I have
Finished the map’s landscape and hope you like it. It was a pain in my ass, I painted it few times (again and again) as I wasn’t happy about what came out but that’s it for now. I lost too much time on it. Though I practice my skills in mapping nicely. Anyway, the settlements are pretty final set, though they do not represent proper infrastructure. What I still need to do is also placing trade resources and permanent stone forts. Than adding factions is next in plans (it was Gracul’s task, but I hasn’t seen him for a quite few weeks now…). Its latest version on first release will be posted soon. So if you like what you read/see – keep an eye on it. And if you would like to support this project with your skills and work – the doors are opened for you!

BTW starting date is about 1190y.

WOW! Incredible map, especially mountains! It's very good that distance between cities is big. In the game will be more battles then sieges.

It will be great if in later version of mod you add Kingdom of Bulgaria, Kingdom of Serbia, Sweden and Kingdom of Gruzja

I’m very pleased with the map size. It is just perfect, not too small, not too big, just like it should be.

I would like to add both, but I can’t make them alone and there is nobody that could borrow me those two.

    tp mistermasyl :
Lithuania ,Latvia & Estonia is wrongly showed as ortodox in those religion maps.
Lithuania has strong catolic traditions , Estonia and Latvia is more protestant oriented ,but still with great catolic influences. Ortodox always was only minority.
    Nice campaign map BTW

Yeah, I found there some other mistakes too.

Not in my mod! You will be savage naked pagans with clubs and doghead hats! Just kidding Though this area will be pagan, pretty vaste lands of Balts, Finnes and Cumans.

I'm glad you like it! Maybe someday you will play this mod as Lithuania. With your own units lead Lithuania to world domination

attached bellow is some edited skins for norway. mostly the difference is that blue has been changed to orange/yellow to represent the proper faction symbol colors. some other details has been added, but not much.
you are free to use them or not. if you choose to use them i may later feel compelled to add some new plate armor and such.

Wow mate, they looks really good This is very nice gift! Thanks a lot

BTW I’m thinking of refreshing Norwegian roster. I mean I would like to add few new units and takes Gotland footmen out (since Gotland is not Norway). I will soon present you a postulated new roster. It won’t be anything special, it will be based on vanilla’s one and new units will be just made from vanilla’s elements. But I won’t Norwegian roster to be a bit larger and more unique (from Danish). I do have a guy that may assemble some units from vanillas elements, but if you as Scandinavian would like to do it by yourself, then be my guest man Speaking about that new Norwegian specific units, I though especially about 2-3 units of higlanders, not very heavy, but skilled and of great stamina.

Also I’m thinking about placing permanent stone forts. I know that stone buildings become popular quite late. But maybe there is few historical important/strategic places we could ‘honor’ with that way? Another request is related with Scandinavian economy.
a)Norway – certainly fish on the coast. I would also like to add some walrus ivory above Nidaros. What more could I add? Maybe some mineral resources? Maybe some furs? Timber is rather not so good as it was of poor quality in Norway in those times.
b)Sweden – a bit better soils and climate so maybe timber and tar? What about honey, furs, mineral resources? Certainly fish. Any other ideas? Were there amber on Swedish coastline of Baltic?
c)Denmark – certainly wool and fish. Anything else?

Also I keep thinking of splitting Sweden into two factions: Kingdom of Gotland and Kingdom of Svealand. I know they were finally united circa half XIII, so in 1190 they could be presented in EE:TW. An extra faction could bring more diversity and action into Scandinavia land. Both faction would be very similar and based mostly on vanilla elements. They would differ with few units. I don’t wonna this to involve a lot of work. And even if the idea accepted, I’m thinking of implementing it into second release. What do you think about it?

And once again, thanks for your precious support man!
