    The feature of Three Invasions.
We plan to script three emerging factions, each will be invading different part of the map, but all three will hit in pretty much the same time. Chaos and destruction will come to many kingdoms…
From the north in 1202 year will come Baltic Crusaders. They will appear on Baltic Sea and will land on its south bank. Riga, Reval, Tuwangste and Piltyn are its primary targets. If any settlement is conquered, the Dominium of Teutonic Order will be proclaimed.
From the south in 1204 year will come Latin Crusaders. They will appear on Marmara Sea and will land on it north bank. Constantinople, Thessalonik and Enos will be in serious troubles… If the horde manage to conquer any settlement, the Latin Empire will be proclaimed.
From the east in 1220 year will come Mongol Horde. They will appear on Black Sea steppe near Saraj, Ukak and Majar. They will move west and if any settlement will be conquered, then the Khanate of Golden Horde will be proclaimed.

    A preview of faction’s CoA.

    Great idea, good luck.

    Just a few points:
    1. Order of the Sword Brothers didn't exist in 1250 (your start date). They merged into Teutonic Order in 1237. So there is no need for another order faction.
    2. The names of all towns are going to be in Polish language or it is just a temporary version?

If you study the history of both Orders you will see, that the ‘union’ between both Orders was very loose and dependent on both Orders actual political situation. Sword Brothers even after being officially merged retained own Grand Maister.

Anyway they are not thought to be included in phase one. They are planned in phase two.

And of course, the screens came from Polish version, certainly English one will also be available.

Not according to the books I have read by Urban. They had their own Meister but he was still a Teutonic Knight and under the command of the Hochmeister. Besides, any remnants of them [Sword Brethren] were more or less flattened at Peipus, at least influence wise.

I have studied history of both Order very much to say that there weren't union between the two orders since they were "one".
When the Order of Sword brothers was virtually annihilated in the battle of Sauliai (Saule) 1236, they were incorporated into Teutonic order who had just begun crusade in Prussia. From that point they were in all respects (clothing, rules, policy) an autonomous branch of Teutonic Order. They changed their former symbolics( red cross and red sword on white background ) to Teutonic's (black cross on white background).
There were two seperate landmasters in Baltic for Teutonic Order, one for Prussia , other for Livonia, the headmaster was still located in Palestine. But when headmaster moved his headquaters from Venice to Malbork(Prussia) in 1309 afaik, then he merged his post with Prussian landmaster.

You could probably list them as two factions only in the late 15th century when the role headmaster in Prussia was diminished and he was used just to formally accept the landmaster which the Livonian branch elected from their own ranks.

As I said before, Sword Brothers were not considered in phase one (so circa 1250) but in phase two as an emergent. From our point of view Sword Brothers are an interesting option, because their militarism was different from the Teutonic ones and they led own policy.

Also If you study proposed faction list you will notice, that we showed division of HRE (Imperial duchies of Saxony, Bavaria, Bohemia), Poland (Silesia, Mazovia and Poland), Hungary (independent Croatia, Wallachia, Serbia) and Russia (Kiev, Novgorod, Czernihow) so representing both branches of the Order is alongside of this assumption.

Anyway I will ask my historians to take Sword Brothers into consideration again. But I think that their merging was more formal issue just to strengthen their military alliance, as they were surrounded by foreign and hostile culture. Sword Brothers autonomy after merging was to such an extension, that representing them as separate faction has some pretty solid base. Another conformation of these loose dependency is the fact, that they broke the bound with Teutons and became fully separate in second half of XVc.

Great screens, Silesian_Noble! I propose to translate the text above the screens into english - I don't think, that "Pomorze" or "Czechy" sounds clear to non - polish

    PS: Apologies for my english

As Herkus mentioned, the Battle of Saule all but wiped the Swordbrothers out. They then were absorbed by the Teutonic Knights and their leadership supplanted by one....so the separation in the XV century was more due to the self sufficiency of the Livonian branch from the Prussian branch than anything with a defunct order two centuries before.

I hope that within two weeks time we will show you slightly improved map with trade resources plus stone forts and which should already have English names of cities. Simultaneously another 3-4 units probably will be ready and hopefully cheer your eyes. Being optimistic I say that the new map preview will be based on utilized factions with presentation of their starting provinces.

Nice preview, I can't wait to see the next one...and I'm glad to see for the first time in a mod Trydent (Trento in italian or Trient in german), the city where i live

I’m really glad you like it and thank you for the name’s tip. In general almost all Italian peninsula will be black – fogged as the only Italian faction will be Venice. Papacy is supposed to be in beta 0.1, but in final version will probably be changed with another faction.

It's not only because my city is in the mod(and i know Trydent isn't where the mod is focused on), but i'm interested in north and eastern europe history and the project seems promising too. I'm uneable to mod anything so the only thing i can do is to say good work guys!

Oh...i forgot...about Trydent remeber that Venice has never conquered it...and that's important for my personal point of view

I may promise to put a huge stack of rebels in Trydent, but it probably won't resist long and either HRE or Venice will finally incorporate it to its own Kingdom...

So far everything looks good. We are constantly working on new units (every day brings a progress), the map is still being improved, some new scripts are being written and a new experienced moder has just joined us I think that another small preview, which should be released within two weeks time, will turn to be a nice surprise Keep your fingers crossed
