Icon5 Quick question : is there a way to revert to the vanilla mtw2?

Hey guys i donno if i should post this q here or in some technical Q's sub-forum...but is there a way to uninstall this mod and have the vanilla version if needed?

or if i need to play the vanilla version and the BC mod at the same time; is there a way to have 2 games(vanilla + BC) on the same comp? (maybe different folders?)

    thanks

No, Broken Crescent will make you permanently unable to play vanilla m2tw (even if you uninstall it and m2tw). Infact even switching computers will not allow you to play vanilla m2tw.

Or it might install into its own folder and all you need to do is click m2tw.exe

Yes. In fact, all your computer can do now is play BC.

Actually, all you need to do is to run Vanilla. I don't believe BC changes anything to it, so you'll be able to run the original game, or BC. You won't have to uninstall one or the other.

isnt BC like DLV, aka encapsulated in its own folders, scripts and al ?

Another possible way to approach it, and one that I like to use, is to do the following:
    1. Install M2TW
    2. Patch it to the latest version
    3. When you want to install a new mod, copy the original directory (As in, the folder 'Medieval 2 - Total War' in the Program Files/Sega directory) and rename that folder after the mod you're going to install (i.e. Broken Crescent)

That way you now have two folders, one you can use to run the Vanilla game, and another to run Broken Crescent and whatever other mods you want to install.

Well to run vanilla you just have to double click on your vanilla icon . BC as a lot of other mods installs in a mod folder so nothing is overwritten. The previous posts were ironic
