Whenever I install the demo I try to start it up, and it immediatley says it encounters a problem and exits to desktop, I uninstalled and re-installed 3 times, searching Paradox Forums now for solution.

I had the same problem.
In my case it sett the screan refresh rate at 0, so I couldnt get into the game.
There is a txt file in the games folder that lets you change these things.

Does your pc meet the requirements? EU3 has surprisingly heavy requirements on the video card front for what it actually delivers. I believe you need a video card which can run shader model 2 or so. I'm sure you'll find more info on their forum.

Basicly it has a fancy ocean...
I allways prefer to play zoomed out of model range anyway (unless trying to locate a port or COT or something).
