    Icon3 6.0 Map Preview 5- Africa

As you can see from screenshot no. 5, the Sahara is impassable to a certain extent. You can only traverse around the Barbary mountains, along the coasts, and about Eastern Egypt- but there is always room to move around enemy armies. This improves realism and gameplay, ensuring units won't get lost in the massive, empty expanse of desert (and preventing rebels from spawning there).

    West Africa

    Straits

    Algeria

    Tunisia

    Libya

    Cyrenica

    Nile Delta

    Southern Egypt

Each preview seems to look nicer and nicer. I like that you are only limited to the coast, as in vanilla it would annoying trying to catch armies moving away from you with the short desert movement range. I did like being able to have all of Africa my color though, the grey is bothersome. Good job on the map!

Nice map-how many more regions will there be in total in 6.o?

All of Africa can be your colour, each settlement controls the strip of Sahara below it This way we don't waste a settlement on unreachable rebels.

We are using the max, I think 198, which is roughly 30 more.

OK, good. It's sort of like an OCD, but I hate leaving rebel settlements lying around. I couldn't tell if there was the one unreachable settlement in the south or not based on the screenshots.

Very nice! If only you panned a bit to the right in that Nile Delta shot (I'm curious to see how you'll do the Levant)

Hint: The Holy Lands are the most interesting and important region ever, so they will make a special presentation for it.

I have threee things to say:

1 - Graphically the map looks uber.

2 - Well, can you made the regions' borders more like historical regions - for now most of them look like United States of America, with absolutely square borders and the like... Would be nice for more borders to follow rivers, like in Tunisia.

3 - Also, there are certain suggestions in other map preview topics, I hope you will read 'em.

And no El-Oued? Very nice. I prefer coastal provinces in places like that (outskirts of the map), at least they are useful.

Oran, Damietta both deserved to be added. Will give more chances to Sicily, Moors and Egypt.

    Very good work.

Once again Tommy, GREAT JOB! Looks like a map to end all maps!

I'm glad you didn't make the maghreb (morroco/tunisia) into a sandpit, and I see you did some rather interesting things for the nile (tropical?) - which is actually a great idea.

That's right Also I dunno if you tried this, but I think I got around your snow problem. I just made a few pixels the City covers mediterranean (or arid if you prefer). You can't see it on the campaign map, but of course there isn't the 'tropical' vegetation type in a siege. I guess it's a compromise between the two, it looks allright on the Nile, but I'm not sure what I'd decide in India.

Ah right, that ridiculous winter/tropical issue. I thought it was gone in Kingdoms? I believe GrynEydDvl ran some tests and discovered it doesn't show up in kingdoms given some edits. But yeah, I did in fact use mediterranean pixels for some indian cities (in particular northern india which is semi-arid anyways).

The winter/tropics issue is so weird because the vegetation and everything is fine during the summer. Just winter results in it going very very weird. :-S

I tried the prevention before even testing it, so maybe your right and it's not in Kingdoms :hmmm:Will find out soon.
