Favourite video game(s) (intro)cinematics and cutscenes

1.WH40K: Dawn of War(Intro cinematic)- The chaotic,war-torn settings looks really realistic, and the ending with the Space Marines charging the Orks is pretty neat too.

2.StarCraft (Cutscene) (The Amerigo): The famous cinematic when the Terran Marines (and the pansy Ghost) are ambushed by Zerg Hydralisks.

I agree, and go with MGS. There has been some amazing cutscenes, and MGS4 looks like it has every intention of maintaining that reputation.

I would give the runner-up to Kingdom Hearts, however. I have found Kingdom Hearts has some pretty good cutscenes (my personal favourite being when Roxas, wearing the Organization XIII uniform, fights Sora using dual keyblades. Pretty kickass fight.

I liked StarCraft's movies, very good for their day.

Whoever made that trailer had a serious stiffy for missiles.

The Warhammer 40K, DoW trailer really sticks out in my mind. It sent shivers up and down my spine when I watched it the first few times, and got me really pumped to play the game. Then again, the only reason I ever finished StarCraft's single player story was to watch the awesome cinematics interspersed throughout the game. Also, I really enjoyed Homeworld 2's opening cinematic. It was unique as well as compelling.

Tough call, tough call. Probably DoW's trailer though. Hard to beat Orks with burnas and dreadnoughts with assault cannons.
