seleucide
Hello,
at the moment I play the XGM 5.6.2. Mod as Baktria and is overrun by the Seleukiden as with every other nation I play if it lies beside the seleucide. And this spoils the gameplay nearly on the whole. The same with the Egyptians who threatened me when I played as a carthago, also very much. What can I do against it?

Re: seleucide
First, what difficulty are you playing? Also, keep in mind that the Seleucid and Ptolemaic empires were very powerful at that time.
Anyway, use your strengths against their weaknesses, so as Bactria, use your horse archers, and other more mobile troops, the Seleucids don't have a good counter for HAs. Carthage should stay away from Egypt until it has a stronger economy and forces, otherwise I haven't fought Egypt too much, so I can't give much more advice.

Re: seleucide
I play in the campaign on hard and the battle difficulty on very much hard. And I am threatened as a Bactria always in 3-6 rounds by at least 2 full armies. And then come even more. The problem is, I have to build up no chance also a good army, because, otherwise, my treasury would perish in it. I have no chance as any empire sometime simply overrun. When I as a Parthia played I had mounted archers, only came so many seleucide that I sometime no more citizens in the towns had to further the education around my armies!!!

This is my personal EDB with reduced bonuses (part of the slow mod I'm trying to make), it should make your life way easier...

Re: seleucide
In vanilla I reduced everyones start denarii to 1000, all arimes to two units and only had all factions able to recruit level 1 infantry/cav. That was (ad still is on my laptop) loads of fun.

Re: seleucide
When your using Carthage, take your main army away from Sicily and bring them back to the mainland. Otherwise your just wasting your good starting troops. Then i bring them back to take out the Carthage Rebels. After that i move to squeeze out Iberia, which actually worked very well(they key is in the calvary). Also, i take the three main islands in the game. They all have good trade value and the Rhodian Slingers and Cretan Archers are extremely valuable. Then you can move on to bigger and better things. After i took Iberia i swung over to Egypt to take their three big cities to get my populations up. I initially enslave the people of their cities. Usually they rebel though, and per my normal procedure i burn teh city to the ground at that point.
Anyways, i rendered Egypt useless. Carthago is an absolute military powerhouse(all the best military buildings now), so i brought my armies back and now i'm back on Sicily and fighting Post-reforms Rome. It's been a real bloodbath so far, to say the least. Except now a giant horde of Gauls has swept into Spain and really caused me some trouble. I've lost 4 of my best cities in the last 15 turns. I find it fairly difficult to defend your cities with Carthage. The city structures really give a lot of advantages to the enemy.
